It's all been worked out by a doctor who knows what she's doing even if the science behind it defeats most of us. You just have to have faith
so how come if you wanted you could eat say 10 oranges and it would all be free, but juice those 10 oranges and drink it then it becomes synned. i can understand that the juice doesn't fill you up but either way you are still consuming the same 10 oranges.0 -

I really think if you're following SW you should stick to what it says in the book. If you start tweaking you'll stop losing.
i didn't think you were allowed to do this, but my friend who is doing slimming world said you could use any cheese as a healthy extra as long as you worked out what amount gave you 6 syns and the ones listed in the book were only examples of what you could have so thought i'd better check. do you know where you can get the very low fat mascarpone?0 -
oops i meant creme fraiche obviously.0

The cheeses for HEs are chosen for their nutritional qualities. So not all are suitable, as they might not have enough calcium, for example. So an equivalent number of syns in a different cheese is not a HEA if it's not listed in the book.0 -

That's exactly the reason, - the juice doesn't fill you up but eating the fruit would. Also of course, eating the fruit gives you fibre which you don't get from the juice.
VLF creme fraiche is sold in Asda and Morrisons near me, so give them a try.
Please don't listen to your friend, the book is not for example only.......it's a definitive list of what you can have for free food, and healthy eaxtras.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Firstly well done everyone for staying strong if you haven't lost and well dne to the losers too.
My friend has been eating the lasagne sheet crisps, she said they are syn free and apparantly she eat a whole box of the sheets in two days!! I'm sure I read on here that they actually aren't FREE.....consultant31 is this right??
She has been losing weight each week 1-2lb a week (even her first week) which i thought was quite low as she has about 6-7 stone to lose. this is why I am double checking this out for her as she may be unknowingly eating too many syns.
Also this is the same friend who told me about the soup made from tinned tomatoes and beans.......If fruit becomes synned if juiced, is this the same for blended beans???????

You are only cheating yourself if you are listening to other peoples hearsay. Follow the book... it's the bible! :A0 -

Something along the lines of....break lasagne sheets into peices, boil them till soft, leave to dry a bit, lay them out on baking tray, sprinkle with salt (or whatever herbs/spices you fancy) cook in oven till crispy!!!!!
Iv'e not tried them but this is how my friend described them to me....
