Anyone mind if I join in - I joined SW last week and on my first week I lost 4 lbs :j

Amie, I know what you mean, I am running to the loo all the time - any idea why ?

This is my first week and the first few days i was weeing all the time too, (TMI sorry) also i think the fibre is working, LOL!!

My weigh in is tonight...at the beginning of the week i felt really well and like id lost but not so sure today. Mind i just had two wholemeal nimble slices for toast for breakfast which were very dry so i kind of feel like i have a huge amount of cardboard on the way to my tum!

Sorry guys but I am bailing out for the time being.
It is just not the right time for me, I have to much stress going on in my life to focus 100% on myself and I am really struggling to stick to things.

My OH is in Iraq - thus leaving me with our 3 wonderful kids, a part time job and a house move next month all to do on my own. I kind of feel like I am just wasting £4.50 every week as I can't stay to class and to be honest I don't need to pay someone to tell me I haven't lost anything.

I will get back on when my head is in a better place and I can give myself the attention I deserve.

Plus I will join a different class as to be honest my consultant is not very helpful at all. In all the time I have been there I have been unable to stay to class and in the 5/6 weeks I have only lost 3.5lbs and not once has she been in touch to check how I am. ( I used to be a consultant for SW and we were always told to get in touch with our members who we felt were struggling or were unable to stay to class).

Sorry for the essay but just thought I should explain myself.

I wish you all lots of luck and will join you again in the near future.

    LM

    xx

Morning sweetpea, firstly thanks for letting us know and not just disappearing. It must be bloody hard while your fella is away, i really feel for you. Are you happy you understand the basics of SW now? If so p'raps just keep them in the back of your mind when shopping & preparing meals but don't get weighed and then on your 1 month anniversary of being in your new home find a helpful class or just come and weigh in with us lot. After all we're free!!

If you let me know your move date I can drop you a pm a month later if you like.... no pressure of course... :o:D If you do choose to can it for now then I think we all understand and wish you the best of luck.

Take care and I hope the move goes easily for you all ;)

    Morning all,
Well, weighed in last night and had put on a pound !!

I'm a bit confused TBH, lost 5lbs the first week, another 5 the second week, half last week (which I was really disappointed with as I knew I had stuck to the plan) and now a pound on!! I have struggled a bit this week with deciding what to eat, but certainly haven't over-indulged. Ah well, today is a new day

One thing which bothered me a bit last night (and I'm not trying to make excuses, honest!!!), the scales felt kind of weird! I don't know about everyone else, but at my class there are always two sets of scales, so two people can be weighed at the same time. This means from week to week, you never know if you are being weighed on the same scales, but I guess they must check them each class to make sure they are weighing the same

Anyway, the ones I used felt really wobbly and the reading wouldn't settle, it kept fluctuating up and down by 5 lbs!!! It never really settled, and she seemed to just write down the middle reading, which had me at a pound on. Is this normal? My mum got weighed on the other scales and she said as soon as she got on them the weight reading was fixed, it wasn't fluctuating up and down like mine did. She said I should ask the consultant about it, but I didn't want to make a fuss or look like i was trying to make excuses!!!
  • My old consultant had scales that did that sometimes and I was never very convinced about hers tbh but then again I was never very convinced by her. I haven't got that at the one I am with now and at my first class (yeah I have done the rounds as I moved about) you could never see the readings yourself so I never knew.

Lillysmum, sorry to see you go but I am sure we all totally understand how hard life must be at the moment. I lost all the weight I needed to last year before my building work began because I knew I wouldn't be able to stick to healthy eating while they were here, they were meant to be here 3-4 mths and it is now more like 9, I just couldn't wait eventually until they had properly gone but had to wait until I had a proper kitchen again LOL. But what I am saying is sometimes although you want to lose weight circumstances are against you and it just isn't the right time. I hope we see you on here again soon, big hug to you and take care of yourself.
  • morning all:)

hi aime...hope the weigh in goes well. had just looked up the local class and its on this morning at 10 just round the corner from me, so good luck!! youll have to et me know what its like and i may join up after half term, but for now i am doing it myself. i dont own scales but im not really bothered how much i weigh, i just know that i dont want my clothes to feel as tight lol.

    Hi there

It has been a while since I have done SW and things seem to have changed a bit. Last time low fat sausages were free on red days but now seem not to be and there were loads of tinned foods that were free and good as back ups to have in the cupboard but is that still so? Is there a list someewhere of free tinned food?

    Sorry so many questions!!

:A you,ve been there for everyone else come on soggymoggy , like you said you were doing well , did you know if on a red day if you have fish from a chippy ,if you take the batter off its free , so next time your o/h go,s to the chippy just get fish and put a salad with it , keep fresh prepacked salad in friage and i always have jackets in there two , so there ready if i need them i put extra jacket in oven all the time , when im cooking , get a jacket out of friage and cut in half scoop out the filling mix with some laughing cow herb , bacon , spoon back into pud pop in oven by the time your o/h gets back there ready :j

Thanks Peachy, sorry, haven't had chance to get back since! I actually couldn't eat the batter, it was SO greasy, I just had a little taste, enough to put me off completely! :rotfl:

I did scoff all the chips though :o

Was good in Plymouth, had the jacket spud with beans, Mum had the children and had done dinner for us when we got back, so I slid again because it was really rich shepherds pie (made with real shepherds, she said :D ) topped with cheesy mash, but I'm counting it as a good day because DH and I had a lovely time on our own together, I didn't snack and we walked bloomin' MILES up and down Plymouth's streets looking for "a big Tigger".

    Morning all.

Weighed in last night (my first proper one) and have lost 3 1/2 lbs. Couldn't believe it :j

I was on here yesterday convinced that I hadn't lost an ounce never mind a pound, so don't despair lab-dab

I know what people mean about the constantly going to the loo I have a theory about that, maybe because we are eating more fruit and veg which all contact quite a lot of water??

    Good luck amie and lillysmum

    Congratulations Charliesmum
