16011996 thank you for that again much thanks for the encouraging words.

It was my first time last week as I think you know and there was a guy there who had just finished his first week and he had lost 11lbs.

Now there is no way I have done anything like that and I have virtually lived on fruit and veg the whole week,

When I first did SW I lost 14lb in my first week. I felt that i'd eaten too much to have lost anything, so it came as a shock. I must have been waterlogged because I pee'd at least every hour for most of that first week! It all depends on how much you have to lose - and I have a lot.

Well done on your first week! :)
  • Sorry guys but I am bailing out for the time being.
It is just not the right time for me, I have to much stress going on in my life to focus 100% on myself and I am really struggling to stick to things.

My OH is in Iraq - thus leaving me with our 3 wonderful kids, a part time job and a house move next month all to do on my own. I kind of feel like I am just wasting £4.50 every week as I can't stay to class and to be honest I don't need to pay someone to tell me I haven't lost anything.

I will get back on when my head is in a better place and I can give myself the attention I deserve.

Plus I will join a different class as to be honest my consultant is not very helpful at all. In all the time I have been there I have been unable to stay to class and in the 5/6 weeks I have only lost 3.5lbs and not once has she been in touch to check how I am. ( I used to be a consultant for SW and we were always told to get in touch with our members who we felt were struggling or were unable to stay to class).

Sorry for the essay but just thought I should explain myself.

I wish you all lots of luck and will join you again in the near future.

    LM

    xx

Ah ok! I make up my own from the packets - it sets harder for some reason which I prefer!
  • I agree they are a bit runny - but they are helping stop my sweet tooth cravings

I have just looked on the website (tis hard to follow!) Can anyone explain the meaings on the free foods? What does HH stand for? and HEx? I get that F is for fibre and S is for speed but confused with the others?

    thanks
  • well this was going to be the start of my first dy but why do things never go according to plan! I was going to have a red day today but after dropping my daughter off at school (my day off and we got up late!) I came home to discover I had locked myself out as had given my daughter my key yesterday as she couldnt find hers and she gets home before me and it was still in her coat pocket:confused: A neighbour had a spare key but their curtains were drawn so after climbing in the back garden I had to wait for them to get up. Got in eventually and I was starving! I was then told I was being taken out to lunch so had a banana and lunch was at a carvery. I had turkey and lots of veg but also potatoes and a yorkshire pud. I will have to syn the yorkshire pud and change to a green day and have the turkey as a heb....is that right? I will get my head round this. off to right a meal planner for the week, laminate it and stick it on the fridge.

I think you lot are all great, so supportive of one another:T

wannabekiwi can't you have the pots as a HEb (on the sly  ) or a syn? Yorkies are 4 syns. IIRC. You haven't ruined it at all - sounds not to bad to me!

hey everyone, i found this thread on google, whilst researching slimming world and thought it looked like a good place of motivation.
i'm thinking of joining next monday as i missed last nights group.
i'm 17 and hoping to lose weight before i turn 18 next january, or hopefully a good amount before i have to go back to college in september as my weight made me so unconfident there last year i had to quit :(
i've done scottish slimmers before and i lost a stone in a month, but slimming world looks so much easier.
so yeah, just thought i'd say hi and i am going to read through all of this thread now to get motivated and hopefully start using the slimming world techniques before i join to get into the swing of things.

Litha if you are in the north east of the UK then you are close to me, I am in Aberdeenshire. SW is great, if you want PM me and let me know which club you are thinking of joining. I have been to four different clubs at various times (once you join you can attend any one) over the years. There is another NE member on here too, Trixiebelle. We could have a meet at this rate:p
