I have only used Quark once. There was a recipe in on of the old SW mags for a fish pie and it used Quark. Im not sure if it was the Quark or the fish but it all went watery and it was really awful.
I do have some in the fridge but it has put me off using it!!DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -

i've got 5 pots of total 0% yogurt in the fridge, tried it with lemon curd but didn't like it, has anyone else any other ideas for using it up? seems a shame to waste it.0 -

You can use it for the ice cream thing that I suggested earlier, or mix in some cumin, coriander and cinemon and make a dip for carrots, celery etc or filling for a jacket pud. If you do mix spices with it, its best to leave a couple of hours to let the flavours develop.
I also use the total 0% a lot with the sugar free jelly. Mix half with water and half with the 0% to make a kind of blamange. I cant get enough of this!! By the way I joined at the beginning of January and have got my half stone, but on my scales at home this week (since my last weigh in) I have almost dropped another half stone!! Not going to weigh in this week as I am out for a friends birthday. (I usually take her for a meal, but have got theatre tickets for us instead as this is less calorific!! Although she will demand an ice cream at half time!!). My top tips are: Avoid eating out - I think this is a real danger zone when you are trying to lose weight - i'll venture out again when I want to maintain. I love red wine and use 48 of my weekly syns for 2 bottles at the weekend. I try where possible to use free foods and as I almost always cook from scratch, I dont find this too difficult to do. I have tried the Quorn substitue for veg chilli etc, but have decided that I prefer real veg in my real veg chilli. I try to not cook different things for the rest of the family, but with 2 kids who turn their noses up at Cougettes, Aubergines etc, its not always easy. However I will do myself a load of roasted veggies, then blitz theirs with a tin of tomatoes to make a pasta sauce (effectivley hiding the contents!!) so whilst I appear to be eating a different meal to the rest of them, the contents are very similar. I have also set myself a short term goal of 3 months to "stick to" the diet so that I feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel - but that doesnt mean that I will be falling off the waggon at the end. I want to lose 1.5 stone and if I can do this in 3 months, I will be happy to still attend the meetings to maintain. I really love to cook, and so have used this opportunity to try and make free food meals.
Good luck everyone.
PS - my hubby says I am starting to look like a laughing cow!!0 -
I've just had my Quorn Coronation 'Chicken' (in left over macaroni from last night) and if I do say so myself it was bloody....... HOT! LOL :rotfl: I always put too much curry powder in it and I've had to eat it in three stages so far as its making my nose run! :rotfl: But it is good! I would recommended anyone to do try it if you like green day spicy foods!0

I seem to have lost about 4lbs this week. Though I'm sure being unable to eat for a whole day while I lay in hospital waiting for X-rays helped a little!
(Thank goodness I wasn't carrying the baby when I fell down my entire staircase yesterday morning!)
I managed a piece of birthday cake though since I had to cancel my lad's first birthday party.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Hi all,
Well it's my fourth week since joining SW, and for the first time I've found it a real struggle this week (weigh in tmw, and my hopes aren't high!).
I haven't gone mad and overindulged or anything, I've just found it a bit of a slog and have been really hungry, even though I've been eating plenty I think. I've been doing almost all red days as I can never think of what to eat on a green day and I get frustrated with not being able to have, eg, pasta and bolognese (with real meat, I don't like quorn mince!), as I never seem to have enough HEBs - I've already used them on cereal and crispreads or bread
So I've been reading about Mix 2 Max days and think this might suit me better - has anyone tried it, or the Success Express? If so, how did you get on?
Congrats to everyone on your losses this week :T0 -

Catt which curry powder did you use? I think I will try it xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
Just the Hot Curry Powder by Sharwoods I had in the cupboard, but I've just bought the Tesco one which is identical - its in a round tallish spice tub with a black n orange label!
Snuggles I find Mix 2 Max and Success Express take even more thought that Red and Green! Are you having plenty of veg/salad with your meals, do you have plenty of cooked chicken etc to snack on? I find red hard as you can't add sweetcorn/potatos/pasta or rice to salads (other than as a HEB - I try to eat as free as poss).0 -
Hello, it is nice to hear everyone sounding so motivated today. : )
I just have a quick question: what is the website for syns online? I have changed to postal membership and my consultant phoned last night and kindly left the password with my dad but I don´t know what the web address is.
The reason I need it is that I stopped eating Alpen light bars as they were giving me a headache. I bought the normal Alpen bars and the Alpen groove as these don´t have aspartamine in them but I notice they don´t count as HEB.24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)
