I was hungry last night and didnt know what to eat. In the end I had a peice of fruit. I dont want to deprive myself completely but if I continue to eat food such as crisps, mouse etc...all be it reduced fat ones Im not going to change my eating habits and tastes. Im not a great lover of fruit and wonder if eating it more and more will my tastes change and will I then want fruit etc and veer away from the other types of food or should I just have the others as a treat and have done with it?

Apologies I am a bit behind today so don't know what has been said further down the thread about this yet, sorry if I just duplicate ideas. I quite like certain fruits but I am lazy and if I have to peel and chop then I lose interest easily but I found buying the frozen fruit has helped me, Firstly if I don't fancy it I don't resent seeing it go bad before I get through it, secondly I can buy a larger variety at one time so keep my interest up and you can mix up a fruit salad really easily, and thirdly there is no peeling and chopping. I just finished a bag of Smoothie Mix from Tesco it was little bags of prepared frozen fruit that you are supposed to add to a blender with juice but I just take one out at night and leave to defrost in a bowl and in the morning I stick on a yoghurt and have that, it is 2 portions of fruit in the bag and I know I wouldn't chop that at 8 in the morning. Because it is there when I open the fridge to get the milk out for DS cereal I have a no brainer brekkie and I eat it and actually enjoy it before my brain has woken up. The other advantage to having it for brekkie is that it is a neutral one so I still have time to decide if it is red or green that day. I find a lasting satisfaction yog on it keeps me going until lunchtime if it has to. I never thought I would say that about fruit and yoghurt.:T

16011996 you are correct. Pureed fruit is synned - thats why smoothies aren't free. Its something to do with the way the sugars are then processed by your body. Weird but true!

Darn! And there was me thinking I'd been SO good today :embarasse

Ah well, at least I've managed not to snack, which is an achievement in itself for me. Kept busy mucking out kids' rooms

I've put a piece of Tesco's Lightly-Dusted Cod in the oven and am going to have it with a pile of sweet potato mash. I'd swear I saw the fish mentioned somewhere on this mammoth thread, but Computer Says No when I search and I really can't face trawling back through nearly 50 pages, so if someone has an up-to-date book and can tell me where it fits in, I'd be grateful!

Guess I've already blown my Angel Award today by not knowing about the prunes - annoyingly, it looks like no-one at SW has ever tried pureeing prunes, because there are specific syns given for "pureed/cooked Prickly Pears" before prunes in the book, and for "pureed/cooked Quinces" after, but not the prunes themselves! And, because I thought I was being good, I had two chocolate shortcake biccies after lunch. I even wrote them down on my diary sheet *sigh*

Stroke of fortune though, my sister's just been, and she brought me all her old SW books, including a Free Branded Foods book which I've been trying to get on Ebay for the last few days, just as well I hadn't bought one. I now have three identical optimising books
  • WEll I won't be able to weigh in tonight. I have had a busy and annoying day and we have the builders in and they are soooo nearly finished, finally the last one stuck his head in the kitchen at 6pm to say he was coming back after tea. NOOOOO, I had been waiting ages for them to get out of my hair so I could feed DS in peace and then dash to weigh in. In the end I said it was ok though as I want them gone and DS had been saying he felt ill earlier and I am so stressed with today's events that I am glad not to go. I feel like I am on a slippery slope though and I wanted my magazine!!!!
  • Have yerself a hug poodle xx

Just got weighed and I stayed the same (phew!) When I got back my fella said that me asking for his help had really sunk in and he was now totally behind me. He is gonna keep all his crisps/choccies/naughtys in his truck, not the house. Bless!

Anyway, who wants to start an exercise plan with me??

I'm thinking to earn a :j I have to do 10 mins of physical stuff. I have lots of quick warm ups and workouts on DVD and I thought that by starting with 10 mins every day then it won't (hopefully!) kill me!

My aim is to do this 5 days a week for 4 weeks and then re-assess.

    Any takers?

I'm finding getting my head around the HEB's really hard and have now discovered the all bran cereal i bought and had this morning is actually a syn as it says all bran extra fibre in HEB choice and all bran is listed as a syn :( wouldn't care but it wasn't even that nice.

I guess that means that i have one more HEB left so I could have something with bread as a snack in a bit...ooh dunno what though! :)
  • Had my weigh in tonight, luckily I maintained. I have had a really bad week and thought I might have undone all my hard work.

Tomorrow is the start of next week and I must be good and focused. I can't get weighed next Monday as I am working so it will be 2 weeks until my next weigh in.

I am just finishing putting the chart together with everyones progress this week. Anyone who has not posted their weight losses (or other) and they want to be included please PM me and let me know if it is your first week and I will put you on the chart for MSE SOTW.

    Good Luck everyone
