 Hi Sis
Well i thought I was going to have to work out how to use my syns but following your message I have used 1 1/2 already. Nah it was worth it. It was filling and I prefered the taste to Shape Lasting Satisfaction.
Breakfast: (9:00a.m. starving)2 weetabix (Healthy, one banana and a Mullier Light layered Yoghurt on it.
(time taken to eat it - 22 mins... I struggled as I hate eating in morning but I did it)
Elevenseys: (Starving) Alpen light Choc And Orange Bar (saved other to have at pictures tonight with a can of Diet Kick - going to see Sweeny Todd) So that will be a healthy B.
Lunch: (12:30 starving again!!! So this is working as I never have an appetite). :EasterBun
I had a bowl of Anysley Wild Mushroom Cous Cous, crumbled over a slice of fiery Cheese as a healthy A and cherry Tomatoes. :starmod: One green star for me!
Went to tesco as well to pick up a packet of those snack a jack popcorm to have a pictures but can't find the syn value on line.
Pasta for dinner Don't know what type though probably a quick fix pasta sauce. Oh and made Sugar Free Jelly last night and threw loads of fruit in it like Blackberries, Strawberries and Grapes. It looks heavenly and Syn free! :T
It's 3:00 and I am peckish already. Two weeks ago I would have gone through an entire work day without eating a thing and not felt hungry. Living on Coffee. :coffee: Now I have bitten a foam apple on my desk as it just looked yummy. :rotfl:Starting weight: 13st 6lb 8 oz
Current Weight: 13st 4st 2oz :j
Weight loss to date: 2lb 6oz :T0 -
aren't fruits synned if you puree them? or when you cook them? not sure if this applies to healty extras, but i'm sure it says something like that free food section of the book? i know you can't mash up a healthy extra b jacket potato on a red day. does anyone know? cos i'd have that whizzed up smoothie if you can, sounds yum.

Not sure Tia, but as it's listed in my book (2004, I think) in the green HE section, and specifically says tinned prunes, I don't see how you can be penalised for pureeing them. That is, after all, what happens to them in your digestive system!
Apparently cooking fruit makes it syn-able (?), but I think tinned prunes have already been cooked so that would surely have been taken into account before including it in the book.
It's rather nice, do try it0 -

its probably just me then, lol, i've no idea why, have a vague recollection of someone telling me its something to do with it being easier to digest, therefore not as filling or long lasting in your system or something, but i've done loads of diets, so it could be from another one.0 -
Oh, I forgot to say, I've tried the smoothie thing with a banana, but it doesn't seem to blend as nicely as the prunes (which is what makes me think they're cooked) and I found it a bit sharp, but the same quantities (fruit, 4tbsp yogurt and 200ml milk) still fills a pint glass, so it feels like you're getting loads!
"... have a vague recollection of someone telling me its something to do with it being easier to digest, therefore not as filling or long lasting in your system or something..."
That does make sense, Tia, I know what you mean.0 -
Hello..... wow I didn't know there was a SW support thread!!
I joined last week (gulp) I weighed in at 12st and I am 5ft 1in so as you can see I need to lose at least 2 st if not 3. I'm very unfit also.
I think SW is fab.... I haven't really gotten in to it yet today is my 1st proper day as I had things at home that needed to be eaten and I didn't want to waste it.
I'm going to struggle with breakfast as I normally have toast with honey on it (and I wonder why I'm needing to lose weight)
Any suggestions for a quick brekkie?
I'm hoping I will have lost at least 2lb come weigh in on Thurs nite.

Fruit has to be fresh to have no syn value. If it is tinned, dried, put into a smoothie or cooked it then has a syn value......something to do with the calories it takes to chew. They lessen if its not in its natural form if that makes sense xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090

16011996 you are correct. Pureed fruit is synned - thats why smoothies aren't free. Its something to do with the way the sugars are then processed by your body.
Weird but true!

tigzem, you could have a slice or two of Nimble as toast and either syn your honey or possibly there is some low syn jam around?
Either that or like I'm going to do is have a microwave pached egg on toast!0
