  • Umkomaas thank you. Will it be a problem that the same vehicle is coming to pick up some people like a week later? As the reg would come up again.

    No.

But surely picking up passengers isn't allowed at the drop off.

Look online first and plan the journey so it is free or cheap pick up in the right place.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • sorry I meant that the vehicle would go to the car park to pick up. Tbh a lot of taxi drivers do this pick up from the drop off place

    Ignore about 5 DRA letters
Next time use standard text that wins everytime
So it's just a waiting and patience game from now on, until they give up pretty much? If that is what you are saying. Thanks

  • Thank you for this thread! I received a PC to Keeper notice yesterday from Gatwick NCP. Resigned myself to paying it, I completely forgot to pay that night it was late. However, I felt it was extortionate. I was stopped for 2 mins 1 second- even the £7 felt excessive.

    I found this thread and so I have done the following;

I contacted NCP via their webform under ‘other’ as I was unclear if by appealing by the route NCP suggest whether appellant could be suggestive of driver details and they were mandatory fields.

I copied and pasted the text from p1 here as I was within the appeal time.

I will update when I receive a reply.

Genuine thanks to those who started this thread. I’m hopeful but regardless of outcome I feel I’ve done something to push back these unscrupulous practices and charges.

They will cancel as long as you used the text and select keeper.😃
  • this might be adumb question, and obviously not many people would but could you do this for every journey to the drop off location?

as is "forget" to pay and the appeal the notice to the keeper. it does say that at their descretion so there might be limit but just curious

Their letters is misleading. They can never win whilst using POPLA and BPA members
Whilst we dont recommend not paying (as you should) you could technically do this every day of the week 10 times a day etc and get tons of pcns and always get them cancelled
I am aware of a few taxi drivers who do this and still charge the customer the drop off fee.
  • Hi guys, I recently recieved a PCN for express set down at Stansted, as I forgot to pay the £7 within the ~24 hour timeframe. I was planning on using the appeal template stating that I was not the driver (I wasn't) but it was my car. However, before I found this appeal template I sent the below to APCOA, do you think this will ruin my chances of appeal and therefore should I just pay the reduced £60 fine within 14 days?

Subject: My vehicle registration (I haven't posted here to maintain confidentiality)

    Hi,

I tried to pay for my stansted express set down charge on 23rd September 2025 but there was a payment error and I was unable to pay. I am happy to pay the £7 charge and do not want to get fined. Please can you advise how best to pay this charge, as I am now unable to pay via your website due to being outside the payment window?

    Thanks,

    Kind regards,

My Name (I haven't posted here to maintain confidentiality)
