Thank you in advance to the legends who have made this thread and template!!

I'm just wondering if I can use the template at the beginning for a Manchester Airport  APCOA 'parking charge' instead of a 'PCN'? Or does the wording need changing slightly? (Is it obvious I've got no idea haha)
yes works for all APCOA airport sites, tweak it a little for APCOA non airport sites excluding penalty charges @ railway stations
  • Is the “response” noted on Page 1 still the one I’d need to respond with please?

My “penalty charge” relates to Manchester Airport but the chap on that thread directed me here.

    Thanks
    Yes use that
Just wanted to say I received a letter from this lot to say they’ve cancelled it. Thanks to everyone on here who helped.

!!!!!! do these c@nts think they are? 🤬

Just trying to work out what you're saying there! 😄😄😄 😉

'Parking Charge' and 'PCN' are one and the same. Yes, use that template which was updated just a week ago to bring it further in line with current activity, including APCOA at MAN.

It's as near to a silver bullet as possible, but, should APCOA not respond with a cancellation, rather asking you to confirm driver details, ignore that and a cancellation should come through in due course. The template does try to head them off fishing for this information, but the conveyor belt nature of pursuing PCNs might see you 'selected' for a bit of angling! 🎣
Thanks for the explanation @Umkomaas and @ChirpyChicken. Only thing I'm a bit worried about is that when I realised I had forgot to pay, I rang APCOA to ask if I could pay before the fine came through. Worried I might have dropped myself in it. I think I might have told them I was driving, do you think theres a chance they might try and use that against me? Ironically I wasn't even driving, so I don't even know why I said that!!

Nope they don't ever join up those dots.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Completely irrelevant

No, don't do that, it will leave gaps in the thread with answers to posts that no longer exist. Outfits like APCOA don't 'lurk' on MSE threads. They are one huge, largely automated, operation. Even if you  phoned again and spoke to the same person, they would have no recollection of your prior conversation - and even if they did, how would they know your MSE user name, unless you said, 'Hello, it's MSE member @Daydreamer21 here' 😄.

Their juggernaut approach isn't designed to look at anything on an individual basis. You're overthinking things, massively.

  • @Umkomaas that's good to know, thanks so much! I could probably win an award for overthinking so you're not wrong haha!!
  • Hi
I'm new to the forum, so apologies if I'm not doing this right.
I wonder if it still right for me to send the registered keeper message below?
My wife received the £100 fine for Manchester Airport, but it wasn't her driving.
The person driving has seen some stuff on Runcorn tolls that suggested paying the charge then showing that in any appeal that the original cost has been satisfied, so I have gone and done that (although it had to be a time and date within the last 24 hours so is not the correct date, however it was still accepted as a payment).

I'm concerned I may have messed up and is it okay to still send the standard keeper's appeal below?
    Thanks BN

This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do not bother with your known fishing expedition in an attempt to get driver details to try and get around the fact there is no keeper liability (and never can be under POFA).

Due to this being airport land you will be well aware there is no keeper liability due to the byelaws in force and the fact this is not relevant land.

As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win @ POPLA. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code where you will auto withdraw

If you waste your time asking for driver details this will be ignored and you will still lose at POPLA if you dont cancel the PCN

So let's save my time and yours and cancel this PCN you simply cannot win this (and you know it).
