I was left wondering if i had not called how long the payment would have been left in a suspense account at the coop bank. This has really put me off using the coop bank regularly, i will i think just collect my switch bonus and have this bank account setup for a future switch if another comes up sometime in the future.
When a payment is blocked for fraud checks does it actually leave your account? Wouldn't it be better if they left it in there until you call as you may decide not to go ahead with it (e.g. due to the delay)?

They mark your balance as not available but hold it from transfer

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Mine just hit, sent the balance out to my saver account elsewhere, inevitably that is also stuck in fraud again, will give it an hour then call up again and get it pushed through - third transfer to same account, I cannot see why they can't deal with that. Least I know to transfer money in for the DDs in advance as it takes 10-15 minutes for transfers to complete on the way in

  • How long is it taking for the £50 to be applied for the savings account?

Unless I've understood incorrectly, Co-op won't be paying out the £50 savings bonus until at least 30th March as you need to leave a balance of at least £25 until 29th March.

my £100 has just hit the account too, so just the £50 now, which my email states £25 has to be in on my acc until 29/3/24 at least, so assuming will get the £50 around/shortly after that timeframe. may be a bit later than that given thats the easter bank holiday

Do you know whether you need to leave the current account open to receive the savings bonus?

Just seen the new Natwest/Ulster/RBS switch offer available and was thinking of switching the Co-Op current account to this.
