People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

It might be a co-incidence, but I decided to cycle £1k through the account this afternoon (despite bringing in £1k with the switch) and this evening have had an email to say I've qualified and been paid £100. I've not checked my account yet so cannot say if the incentive has actually been credited.

Got mine today after switching on Friday and using debit card over the weekend1

Certainly good at crediting the switch payment but they must have one of the most sensitive systems for detecting potential fraud by holding payments of any bank I have ever used. Good in some ways but would be incredibly frustrating if this was my only account.2

Had the e-mail to say my £100 has been paid but no sign of it up to now. Least I know its (fingers crossed) on its way.0

Agreed with SCC2 though on the fraud, I fully expect to have to ring them for a third time (open 8-6 for reference) to unblock this paymentSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

I did what i often do with all my bank accounts, switch money in and out. However with the coop they put you through hoops when making payments. I was on the phone yesterday for 45 minutes including a 20 minute wait. Lovely lady on the phone, but it felt like i was having an interview as to why i was moving money out. Apparently i made the mistake of making two similar payments in 1 day, the first was flagged by text is this fraud? if not please answer yes, money then released. second payment later that day, no text and no show for over 24 hours hence a call yesterday. I was left wondering if i had not called how long the payment would have been left in a suspense account at the coop bank. This has really put me off using the coop bank regularly, i will i think just collect my switch bonus and have this bank account setup for a future switch if another comes up sometime in the future.0

After moving in the £750 this morning, just had an email saying they had paid the £100 though obviously it's not there in the current account yet. I haven't had to wait 20 minutes on hold to speak to the team though @hilsea ring 159 then choose I think option 1 then 3 for co-op and it goes into their fraud queue so maybe quicker

I too now have the email saying they've paid the £100 (after moving money out and in again to be sure) but no £100 in the account yet.1
