Co Op Switch offer (seen 15th January 2024)

Switch completed today. No e-mails or texts received. £1080 in £1020 out instant and without problems. Amazon top-ups completed fine without ringing to register.
Oddly enough, my application for Online saver made over 2 weeks ago bore no fruits. So after 30 minutes wait spoke to someone. The chap said that because I have not completed ID/address proof for it, it was still pending!
Then I pointed out how meaningless this is , since I have already done that once for my CA application (at this point I remembered that I have decided to ignore the subsequent identical invitation to go through the diabolical ID/Address confirmation app, not in the least because the application for both the CA AND the Online Saver were quoting same 6 digit reference) and that my CA is up and running.
So he reviewed the situation and promised that by tomorrow the savings account will be there for me.
Now for the grand finale: The kind advisor let me in on a little secret.: From 22nd of this month Co-op will be offering instant access Reg Saver @ 7% for up to £250 per month. I have accepted his offer to call me back once the offer is live and open the account for me (I imagine there is some incentive for him to be so proactive, but I don't mind)12

Just got 2 emails, the 1st suggesting I set up standing orders (which I have), the 2nd saying my switch is complete (which happened yesterday morning).
Like others have said, perhaps they are just slow and I shouldn't be too impatient ...1

Nope, although we did change the PIN at an ATM on them both. Like you , I was expecting them to ask for a pin at least once with me making 5 x 15-17p transactions within a couple of minutes. Oh well , probably the last time we'll use the cards anyway.Middle_of_the_Road said:
Unusual to be able to use contactless before initial chip/pin. Did you phone to register for online use?pedrodelgado said:
Wife had an issue with this, fraud team message to check. Mine was fine, quite quick. Interestingly we bought 5 individual bananas each, from Sainsburys yesterday at self checkout to get the 5 DC transactions, contactless each one with no pin required and first time use of the cards.PRAISETHESUN said:
Quite likely this is being held for security reasons. I suspect you'll probably need to chase it.Nasqueron said:Have to add that the transfers from co-op out are terribly slow.
I moved 1p as a test and then £25 for the saver from Kroo - both went through immediately to Co-Op
I moved 1p back to Kroo just to confirm it was working before I move £1000 - the money went yesterday but the transaction was posted today and still not arrived. The payee details are correct (and were verified), I will probably need to do the transfers in dribs and drabs as the £1000 I earmarked for this will be needed elsewhere!
Will do the 5 transactions over the next couple of days and see how it goes1

Data point. Switch completed Friday from TSB, £1000 paid in yesterday. Standing orders transferred as part of switch. Debit card transaction completed over weekend and cleared yesterday. £100 already in my account. No emails received.3

Out of interest, does your TSB account still show as active in your online banking but just renamed ?SCC2 said:Data point. Switch completed Friday from TSB, £1000 paid in yesterday. Yes it is showing as switched out but still present on TSB app and shows payment going out as part of the switch.BigBlueSky said:

Thanks - I thought it was strange for them to just rename the account. I assume it will disappear completely in a day or two.0

Changing the pin at an atm ‘clears’ the security side of requiring a chip and pin before contactless. It is in effect, the first pin transaction because you had to put in the pin in order to change it.pedrodelgado said:

Same timescales as mine, except I switched in from Barlcays and my £1k was as part of the switch (and I've not been paid the £100). I'll look at doing £1k manually at some point.SCC2 said:Data point. Switch completed Friday from TSB, £1000 paid in yesterday. Standing orders transferred as part of switch. Probably won't hurt to do it manually, but the terms are fairly clear that transferring in the £1k as a part of the switch is allowed.miller said:
