Co Op Switch offer (seen 15th January 2024)

For anyone who is hoping to switch from Barclays to Co op, its easier said than done but try to keep on top of it, particularly the Barclays end.
I know Co op are supposedly archaic but Barclays are plain incompetent, I can see quite a few switches having problems because of this.0 -

Edit - though as its Barclays you may need to check, double check then check again just in case its mysteriously stayed open. Not convinced mine has been done correctly despite dealing with them through the app and in branch. Thanks for everyone's assistance. I have now closed mine via the app and it is no longer visible either on the app or online. However even though I had gone in via my own app then passed further security of my email address phone number and home address I could not view the case number quoted. I was given the reference CIC **** **** ** nnnn (where nnnn were the only numbers visible to me). I don't think i'll need it but the only way I could get the actual full reference number was for the digits to be typed out one by one.1 -
I’ve clarified with Co-operative Bank staff when calling calling and they said that if you activate and use online banking or the mobile app before the switch date, you will still be eligible for the offer. I’ve also confirmed that the £1000 needs to just reach the account, doesn’t need to stay in. My only concern is their fraud team seems to like blocking transactions and you have to phone them and complete these awful questions after an hour on hold. I was seriously asked “how can you guarantee this is not fraud?”. Apparently, I’m making a transfer to myself isn’t a valid response!0

Contacted them via app yesterday, the Blue Rewards was closed but I was told the other two (Cashback Rewards and Rainy Day Saver) could only be done online.
As I had to walk past a branch this morning (less chance of that by the week) I went in and a colleague did this for me, only they are still showing on the app......online banking shows I only have the current account left.
Colleague on the chat tells me they have not been closed.
And they've charged me the £5 Blue Rewards fee but not paid it back after I qualified with dd/£1k.
Still waiting.....I'm on about my 4th adviser now, swear one had a made up name......Bet I end up going in the branch again Monday.
So so poor.
Edit at 10.10pm - the saver has gone, just the cashback rewards to go.0 -
Hello,I’m switching from Barclays to Co Op. I don’t have a Rainy Day Saver account as when I tried to open one on the app, I was told they didn’t have my ID (which I had supplied online two months previous).I do have the Blue Reward and Barclays Cashback Rewards - do I need to leave Blue Rewards and also close the cashback rewards account before the switch to Co-op Bank? I just got the £5 Blue Rewards payment today and already transferred it into my current account.Thank you in advance0

Oh joy! I have received the email below from Coop this morning regarding my switch from guess who - Barclays. Not sure I can face dealing with it and may simply close both accounts. My husband hasn’t had the email (yet) so it will be interesting to see if his goes through as our switches are mirrored.
Thank you for applying for a Co-operative Bank Account, which you should now have full access to.
We have started your current account switch process as requested and have received a message from your previous banking provider to advise that your switch request has been rejected due to the following reason:
R320
Old account already in account switch
The details you provided when opening your new account with us must match those held by your previous banking provider exactly for the switch to be successful.
We’ll be happy to re-submit your request to complete the current account switch, but firstly you’ll need to contact your previous banking provider and update any information held with them to match what you have provided to us.
Please let us know once you have done this by replying to this email, if you do not wish to divulge this over email, please call our telephone banking team on 03457 212 212 and have this information ready, we can then re-attempt the current account switch.
Please note you may also receive a letter in the post regarding this switch rejection, if the matter has been resolved by then, please disregard this letter.

There have been a lot of reports on this thread of Co-Op Faster Payments not happening instantaneously (I know the rules allow them to be completed in a longer time period). Has anyone had a payment in/out that has shown immediately or are delays the usual?
