For the ones who have already been paid.....

As the site states the debit card transactions/£1k are to be done FOLLOWING the switch, I was looking at maybe early to mid March if/when I got my £100.

So did you do the various 'qualifiers' before the switch was finalised as the payment seems very quick.
that is a good point it does seem quick, so wondering if also including what was done in the run up to the switch as well.   My switch is due to 12th but have used the debit card 3 times to date (first to check was working ok when received and then other two when i was out and about and making a few card payments any way) so would be interesting to know if need to do 2 more card payments or a further 5?)
I've been waiting till my switch completes before doing those but that was based on the payment not arriving for a month or so, if they ARE indeed paying out upon that criteria being met I might speed up the process and begin the card payments/£1k.

I can't remember my visa secure password and have added the debit card to Googlepay and used that to make some small deposits to Chip.
Did that qualify as debit card transactions? I tried the same approach because I couldn't remember my visa secure password either.

The Chip transactions cleared yesterday and I'd already met all the other switching terms, so in theory the bonus should be paid today. However no sign of it yet.

Yes the chip transactions via google pay qualified and I received the £100 bonus today.

I deposited £1,000 by FP and made all my debit card payments the calendar day after the switch had been completed. My card payments were genuine payments, all made online. My card got blocked after 2 payments which was annoying but resolved within an hour.

My SOs were transferred in the switch, and the T&Cs state they count if transferred.

I was an existing customer, so had online and app access for years.

My debit card payments cleared on the 2nd working day after switch completion, which was also when the switch bonus was paid. You are right, it was very quick payment, massively quicker than I had expected.
  • Hi everyone,

Having a wee bit of an issue with this. Applied to switch on 17th Jan. I've got a letter saying the switch will begin on 16/02/24 and the switch date will be 26/02/24. I've now seen that the offer ended on the 19th Jan with the context given below. I'm now unsure if I will qualify for the incentive given the switch date? If I'm not eligible for the incentive I will cancel the switch as I haven't been overly impressed in my dealings with them thus far. Any thoughts?

"Our Switch and save offer ended on 19 January 2024

To receive the incentive, you’ll need to have met all the offer criteria, and have sent your current account application or request a switch to an existing account by the end of the day on Friday 19 January 2024.

If you’ve applied for a new account within the offer period (15 January 2024 – 19 January 2024), you’ll also need to request your full current account switch by 16 February 2024."

So I had applied for the account in time for the offer, but didn't initiate the switch immediately. I signed their electronic switch form a week ago on Jan 19 and still haven't gotten more than the Adobe sign confirmation. Starting to get worried. Anyone else in the same position?

Similar here, I signed the switch forms on 23rd and other than the Adobe sign confirmation, still have received nothing further on the actual switch

My timeline if it helps anyone who is worried if the switching form is being processed:

    17/01/23
    Applied for new acc
    Received application email

    18/01/2023
Received application approved email with reference number

    22/0102023
Received email with acc number and sort code

    23/01/2023
Received details to set up online banking.  Set up online banking, FILLED IN SWITCHING FORM form and received Adobe signing confirmations

    24/01/2023
Received generic welcome email with details that card and pin on their way, nothing about switch having been Initiated

    Then big gap

    30/01/2023
    Card turns up

    31/01/2023
    Pin for card arrived

    1/02/2023
Received a txt on phone saying Thanks for switching and date when switch will happen. No email received about it though (at time of writing)  SO 9 DAYS AFTER FILLING IN SWITCHING FORM until anything heard back

Thanks to whoever was saying about buying £1 Amazon vouchers as an easy way to do 5 debit card transactions, good call :-)

I’m in the process of switching and to ensure I cover all the requirements of the switch but I’m sure others have mentioned the coop bank is so slow in everything it does. Transfers in and out our not instant or certainty haven’t in my experience of about 3 weeks now doing various transactions and applications. Definitely not a bank I would want as my main account. App is limited and even online banking is very much behind the likes of nationwide or even the Lloyds banking group banks. Shame as I quite like the ethical stance they take.
  • Just some advice if anyone is switching from Chase. i received an email from Chase today advising that my switch to the Co-op could not be completed due to me having a savings account open with Chase. They advised me to close the savings account and then resubmit the switch, which I have now done.
