I’ve tried a couple of times on different days to set up standing orders on the account I’m switching (Nationwide) but keep getting error message saying unable to process. I’m guessing this may be because the switch is underway and hence I can no longer set up new standing orders….is this usually the case when you switch accounts? No real issue anyway as can just set up in Coop account instead.
One was to another Nationwide account, the other to FD. Set up as a new payee, then it gives you the option to make it a standing order.0 -
Although the money from the transferring account was in my Co-op account yesterday 25/01/2024 - the scheduled switch date - I'd had no formal confirmation that the switch was complete. I was therefore reassured to receive this email from the Co-op today reminding me of the steps necessary to secure the incentive:
It seems they have taken account of the two standing orders I finally managed to set up yesterday, so overall happy with that.Important information about your Switch and Save Offer
Date 26/01/2024 Dear [HHUK]
We wanted to thank you for taking the time to switch to the original ethical bank! In order to qualify for your initial £100 switch incentive payment as part of our Switch and Save offer, you must meet all of the eligibility criteria.
As a reminder, you still need to complete the following criteria in the 30 days following your switch completing, which means you have until 24/02/2024 (you may have met some of these criteria already):Make a minimum of 5 debit card or digital wallet transactions
Deposit a minimum of £1,000 into your new account (this may be transferred as part of the switch)
Once you have met these criteria and received payment of the £100 switch incentive, you will then be eligible to qualify for the £50 savings bonus.
For the full terms and conditions of the incentive, visit co-operativebank.co.uk/products/bank-accounts/switch-and-save/.
If you are a new customer, and you are yet to meet these criteria, this won’t stop you from using your new Co-operative Bank account. You can start to use your new account as soon as you receive your card and PIN.
Yours Sincerely
The Co-operative Bank

Having to ring up to register for online shopping and to register it for Apple Pay is a bit much. Already looking forward to switching this account away.0

Just looking at the T&Cs on p1 here which seem somewhat confusing/misleading but from previous comments that seems to be par for the course with Co-op.
The criteria listed all say they have to be done in the 30 days AFTER switch completes which is fine but one of the items is to register for online/mobile banking. Key word here is register rather than use.
Has anyone done this before the switch completes? I suspect it's just sloppy wording but worried that I've got everything setup so I could apply for the savings account and might have screwed my payment.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
