Co Op Switch offer (seen 15th January 2024)
Comments
-
Money from closing account received in Co-op Bank account today, but no formal confirmation as yet that switch is complete.
Have been trying to set up 2 standing orders in on-line banking as per the requirements to qualify for the incentive.
Got as far as setting up and verifying a payee (own account elsewhere). Ticked the 'Future Payments and Standing Orders' box and was allowed to make a one-off transfer, but blowed if I can see an option to create a standing order anywhere.
Currently holding on to see if Customer Services can help, but thought it might be quicker to ask here if anyone else has encountered and/or managed to resolve this issue?
** UPDATE **
After holding on for the customary half hour or more I managed to speak with Jessica, who was very helpful but who, to my astonishment, confirmed that I couldn't set up a standing order in on-line banking. She was able to do it for me over the phone so, to save having to go through the whole rigmarole again, I also set up a second standing order to another personal savings account with the same bank while I was at it.
Jessica advised I should be able to see the standing orders in on-line banking later today, so fingers crossed. No idea if this is a temporary glitch in the Co-op Bank's system, or just the way they do things.
Unbelievable, Jeff!0 -
Just received our cards this morning, so can now register for online banking.Middle_of_the_Road said:
Yes, I had to do it twice before it worked. The first name question a bit obscure, although easy to interpret what they meant. Had to check the dates of opened accounts on credit report.pedrodelgado said:Anyone else finding registering on line to be a complete lottery! How on earth do you know when you opened all your current accounts. Anyone know if you do it wrong more than a few times it will never let you do it and so have to spend ages on the phone? The first name living with you thing is crazy , just guessed it meant first two letters.
Just wondering what is the difficulty people are having with the 'first name' question.Typically confused and asking for advice0 -

You can register before having the cards, as soon as I got the email confirming it was setup I registered and they found my account just using basic details and the account details, I was able to open the saver fine too.vixen1500 said:

Edit I don't have card/PIN or switch confirmation letter but it was all put on the opening for so I assume it'll arrive at some pointSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Received a letter today confirming my account switch for next month, with the caveat that they could change the date. Not sure that's how the switch service is meant to work, but not a surprise given experiences on this thread where dates have been moved unilaterally.

You’re given a list consisting of various two letter combinations and asked to pick one of the combinations. It wasn’t clear to me if the two letters were initials or the first two letters of a Christian name (it was the latter).vixen1500 said:

After a long wait on the phone I managed to set up the card for Apple Pay. TBH if it was not for the bonus I would not entertain this bank. Their processes are very antiquated.0

For the ones who have received their cards now, how long have you had to wait for the PIN? Or are you still waiting?0

Had my card since Monday, but no pin yet. I wont be needing to use the pin, so it doesn’t matter to me how long it takes.Bazzalona13295 said:For the ones who have received their cards now, how long have you had to wait for the PIN? Or are you still waiting?0 -
