I'm most likely overthinking the t&cs of this Co-op switch now but wondered if anyone can clarify the timing of opening the savings account and starting to make debit card payments to make up the x5 required?  We've both got accounts set up now - online and app - and received our debit cards yesterday.  Assuming they stick to the original switch date offered of 9th February do I read it that I should open the savings after the switch has gone through or is it okay now.  Same goes for making payments.

The wording just seems ambiguous to me.

The literal interpretation of the T&Cs is as you suggest - you need to do those things after the switch completes, so this is probably the safest thing to do. You can open the savings account now though, as the only criteria there is to met the criteria to be paid the £100 bonus, and then have a balance of £25 or greater on day 45 after your switch completes.

I found out that prior to September 2022 they use your memorable word for your Verified By Visa password (now Visa Secure). New customers will need to register/setup a password. I also setup a security question and PIN while I was on the phone at their prompting.
I personally can't be bothered to wait on the phone for an unspecified period to set up my card to use online - guess I'll be buying 5 individual carrots next time I'm off to Tesco...

Anyone having issues trying to register for online banking?  Tried on various browsers/devices and it just loops back to the enter username/password etc after inputting first registration details - name/DOB/sort/Ac numbers...?

There is no chance to create username/PW etc?!?
have you had a coop account with online banking in the past, i had that happen initially, however eventually got a strange message about details not found with that.   However it turns out that i had old online banking registration against already -  I still had old online banking info for a coop account closed a couple of years ago, and that still works, logged in all ok now and apparently reason i couldn't register was because technically i already was from a number of years ago.  can see the new account ok today on there and have applied for the new savings account as well via the app so am just waiting for that to be opened now
well had the email last night confirming savings account application was successful (did it via the app) no account number or sort code for it and not showing online on the app yet, will check again in a few days.  have put £25 into the current account already so that when it is showing online i can transfer that over.

The first thing you see in online banking about the switch is when your money and your DDs/SOs have been transferred. This is not unique to the COOP but the same at all banks.

If you want to reconfirm that your switch request is in the pipeline, and you haven't got email or text confirmation for it, you could call them and ask.

No nothing via email or text, which was more my point, which I should have specified. I also cant see anything to request a switch on the site. I'll wait to see if they respond via secure message, I don't really have time to spend on the phone
If you are saying that you have not requested a switch as part of your current account application, I am afraid, you have missed the boat for the latest switch offer as the deadline for the switch request was January 19. You could still request a switch (there’s a form online) but wouldn’t get the £100, and wouldn’t qualify for the additional saver offer, either.

If you did request a switch as part of your application, the switch should be in the pipeline. They are a bit (!) slow confirming the switches, so hang on in there. I don’t know whether their messaging service is any good but I do know that CS is competent on the phone. It can just take a long time for them to answer the phone, 30 minutes for me the other day.
There's a notice on their website (although frustratingly, it's not referenced in their full T&Cs) stating that if you applied for a current account during the offer period (15-19 Jan) then you have until 16 Feb to request the switch. Existing customers needed to request the switch before the offer ended on 19 Jan.

You can request a switch by filling out the Adobe switch form on their website, under the heading:
    • I've already applied for or already have an account

Yes this is what I understood the situation to be Praisethesun (you'll see I referred to this in my post 19th Jan), though was concerned there was a a gap with accounts already agreed. I did enter my account details and did confirm that I wanted to switch that account, however I did not receive a switch date, nor do I remember having to add card details which is usual for a switch.

Compared to switches I've done in the past, and I've been doing this for years, this one has so far been the least straightforward.

I vaguely recall Halifax/LBG/Barclays a few years' ago saying that Visa Secure passwords would no longer be required. I don't recall being prompted for one in recent times (maybe a One Time Password via SMS, but not "the password"). Usually if a site implements 3DS and I'm using a Visa card the Visa Secure splash screen appears briefly then the transaction just completes.

In today's post was a letter from the COOP confirming my switch which is due to happen on Friday, 3 working days before the date I had requested.

The letter is dated the 18th, two days after I requested the switch. Whether it was the slowness of the COOP or of the Royal Mail or of both shall forever be unknown.
    • I signed up for online banking which is now live, downloaded the app this morning so i could open the savings account but it keeps saying my details are wrong,do i need to give it 24hrs like i did with online?finding this one tedious. :D

I've been told my switch is going ahead on the 9th Feb, letter sent out 19th Jan. I have had a letter off the Co op but the switch wasn't mentioned hence me chasing them up.
