    Had the 'Welcome' e-mail today saying I can register for online banking, but it may take 24 hours before I can do so. It also mentioned that registering for online banking also registers you for the app. My plan of doing the app after the switch just in case their terms ("in the 30 days following the switch") are taken literally wont work so will probably delay doing that.

    The app isn't mentioned in the offer terms. Only online banking. So delaying the app registration wouldn't buy you anything anyway, and I don't think you need to worry about registering for online banking now.

    The app was mentioned on the main splash page, but not in the T&Cs. It's not relevant now anyway as the Welcome email effectively says registering for one does the other. For reference here's the T&Cs cut and pasted from the .pdf:

    1.3 In the 30 days following the switch completion date:
    a)has deposited at least £1,000 into the eligible account (this can be transferred as part of the switch and/or by one or more deposits);
    b)has at least 2 active direct debits or standing orders in place on the eligible account at the point of payment (this can include any that are transferred as part of the switch);
    c)has made a minimum of 5 payments using the debit card on the eligible account (this includes any digital wallet transactions); and
    d)has registered for our online banking service.

    ...for what is worth, I agree that registering now is not likely to make any difference.

    Did a switch as an existing customer - looks like they completely ignored the section where it optionally asks for a different completion date, as my text message tells me my switch is happening 5 days before my requested date.

    At least you've had a text message - I've not even had that yet, nothing apart from the email from Adobe Acrobat Sign confirming I filled in the form.

    As the offer is also for existing customers, with existing online banking, I don't think they could reject anyone for having registered for online banking before the switch has completed. It would be quite unreasonable for any bank to expect their customers would delay setting up online banking for what is supposed be your main account :)

    Different for the £1,000 deposit and the 5 debit card payments - it is reasonable that they set a time period in which these need to happen to be eligible for the bonus wonga. I will definitely only do them after my switch has been completed.

    Though this is just my opinion, you need to decide for yourself what you are doing.
    It is quite ambiguous, question I can't answer is what do they have to gain by you/I registering for online banking AFTER the switch? That one is a mystery to me.

    Same here, no confirmation of the switch going ahead since getting the Adobe form on Friday morning. Hopefully they are just a bit slow with processing.

    I applied to switch as existing customer on 16th and being switched on 26th. Not sure if my normal £1k pcm deposit will cover the conditions so I'll pay £1k in and out anyway just to make sure......
  • For the savings bonus element of the offer, does anyone know if the ‘bonus’ is taxable as if it was savings interest? I’m close to my upper limit for higher rate savings interest this tax year, but if it is a savings bonus then don’t think this is taxable as if it were interest, similar to how cash back works etc

    Anyone having issues trying to register for online banking?  Tried on various browsers/devices and it just loops back to the enter username/password etc after inputting first registration details - name/DOB/sort/Ac numbers...?

    There is no chance to create username/PW etc?!?

    Sounds like they've had the team from NS&I in to design it, that seems to be their speciality :)
