  • So I had applied for the account in time for the offer, but didn't initiate the switch immediately. I signed their electronic switch form a week ago on Jan 19 and still haven't gotten more than the Adobe sign confirmation. Starting to get worried. Anyone else in the same position?
Me! Applied 15th. Account switch requested 20th. No confirmation at all

My query is about the required saver. I have applied and been accepted 2 days ago. When will it appear in the app/online? So slow and clunky; don't think I'm going to be able to keep going with the Coop at this rate.
i am the same my online saver is not showing on the app yet either, got email on Tuesday to say application successful for the online save but not showing as yet.   Hopefully will show up soon
mine is still not showing up yet, will check again on Monday to see.

I have now received the card for the current account now so at least thats something, not had any confirmation of the switch date etc, which i requested at the application stage, can't recall what date the switch is now though as have misplaced the note i had that written on, know it was some point in February.

If the savings account is not showing by monday may give them a call to ask about that and check the switch date at same time, especially as it looks like may need to call them to set up a password for using the debit card online.

I don't know whether COOP debit cards issued now are still working like those issued a few years ago. Mine has a VISA Secure Password which I have to enter in addition to the security code they text me for online purchases. Very yesteryear, no approval via the app. :|

I was in the process of making my 5 debit card transactions, paying off some credit cards and my HMRC bill. Card blocked after 3 transactions, despite having provided the correct VISA Secure Password and the security code texted. No text to say they blocked the card, usual 30 minute wait on the phone and the Spanish Inquisition to get the card unblocked.

My recommendation for the 5 payments is that you stick to small amounts, perhaps 5 singleton carrots in a shop, and spread the payments over a couple of days.

There's no way I would use the COOP as my main account.
  • I can't remember my visa secure password and have added the debit card to Googlepay and used that to make some small deposits to Chip.

I made two payments of £1 each into my NSI Direct Saver account last night using the debit card, without having to input the Visa Secure password or security code. For the third and fourth payments 'my bank was contacted' and I needed to enter them. Tried again this morning and was required to enter the password and code straight away.

I MAY stay with the Co-op Bank but am unlikely to use them for my main account. I intend to see how the annual travel insurance that comes with their Everyday Extra account stacks up against other options. One thing in their favour is that the Everyday Extra account insurance covers people up to age 80, but I'll need to see whether our pre-existing medical conditions can be covered and, if they can, at what cost.

My wife's pin number turned up in yesterday's post, next should be either that the switch has started or that it is complete...

My switch letter appeared and 3 days later pin received.

Similar here, I signed the switch forms on 23rd and other than the Adobe sign confirmation, still have received nothing further on the actual switch

  • Has anyone whose account is now open (card and pin received etc), now received a second (well, 3rd!) welcome email with a different sort code and account number?! I think they’ve opened two accounts for me, but I made one application definitely! Complaint coming I think….

I have had 2x welcome letter (one more of a welcome, assuming your account is approved) and the card, but no PIN. Had 3 emails, second with account details on it, third again confirming things and telling me to register online.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
