Did you get COP matches when sending money to your COOP account, and when setting up a payee in your COOP account?Stargunner said:
It is not a scam. I received a call today and following a 2nd call from a personal banker my account is now open, online bsnking is set ip and I have transferred money in and withdrawn money from my Co-op account.danny13579 said:
It hasn't been officially announced by Co-op bank that it is ending tomorrow, just by people on here saying what someone on the phone told them.MABLE said:If the offer is finishing tomorrow I would have thought Mse news would have alerted us.
This rings alarm bells. Hopefully not.MABLE said:Also I find it a little odd some potential customers are getting calls from branches. Hopefully it is not a scam0 -

I will be interested to see if the switching offer gets withdrawn today. Certainly nothing on their website to reflect this.0

Interesting that it includes standing orders as well as DD so very easy to sort that with a transfer to another account.Stargunner said:worriednoob said:
Thanks @dcs34 - Regarding the direct debits - Do these need to have already been setup in the previous account or can these be setup with Co-op after the switch has taken place?dcs34 said:

a) has deposited at least £1,000 into the eligible account (this can be transferred as part of the switch and/or by one or more deposits);
b) has at least 2 active direct debits or standing orders in place on the eligible account at the point of payment (this can include any that are transferred as part of the switch);

The online savings account I applied and was approved for on Tuesday is finally showing in online banking and in the app.

That is what I have done. I just set up 2 standing orders on the account that I am switching to pay myself on 2 of my own accountsjimjames said:

I was told on the phone that it will be withdrawn at the close of business today.MABLE said:I will be interested to see if the switching offer gets withdrawn today. Certainly nothing on their website to reflect this.1 -
That's why Mable is posting that it's a bit mysterious. It's only your post about the info you were given over the phone by customer services that suggests the offer is being withdrawn. Often the info given by customer services people is incorrect, so it may, or may not, actually happen.Stargunner said:

I find it a little odd that, if it is really ending today (a mere 5 days after the offer began) that someone in customer services would say so. As I would think it was info they shouldn't pass on as it's clearly not 'official' in that it's not on the website. I'm not suggesting you're not reporting the conversation correctly, just that what you were told seems odd. But we will see! .
Edited to add, mid afternoon: I see they have now confirmed the offer is being withdrawn today - which might make it the shortest switching offer ever! I still think it's an odd thing to do, and wonder whether they've messed up somehow - which, of course, they have form for (I'm thinking of their mess-up over the previous referral offers where they tried to claim a later version was the same as an earlier one, when it clearly wasn't, and, eventually, the ombudsman agreed it wasn't). Or maybe Coop Bank just can't make up their minds.3 -
I applied Monday got told switch would be 9th Feb, had email same day to say approved subject to checks, received letter in the post yesterday confirming the same as the email and have just received an email with account number and sort code. I'm really concerned about these phone calls some people have reported getting it doesn't made sense to me.0

Has anyone who already had an existing account and completed the online switch form had anything to say that the switch is going through (other than the email showing the completed signed Adobe form). I know some have had messages from the banks they are switching from. Applied on Tues mid afternoon but haven't heard anything from Coop or from switching bank nor has my wife (we did get the Adobe form emails).
Bit concerning as normally based on extensive previous bank switching experience I would have expected something from one end or another by now. Also seems those applying for new accounts are getting confirmation of switch but not us existing customers.If the deal is really being pulled today I might have to get on the phone and make sure its in hand.0
