Well i have had an email this afternoon (after yesterday afternoons application) asking me to send ID docs to them, have done it this evening via the link they submit with selfie, and photo of drivers license and utility bill, so hopefully that will get my account application processed soon. the email also had options of taking into branch or posting certified documents as well, but the electronic process seemed simple enough (and thankfully simpler than that yuhu id verification that RBS group uses - or its called something similar to that).
also not too bad time wise so far email 1 yesterday came at 2.12 pm confirming application received, and email 2 for id came today at 2.40pm (application was only completed at 2pm yesterday).MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
That’s good, I applied Monday and had two emails confirming received application. No request for ID apart from the lady on the phone saying I ‘could’ upload ID using the website link. So did that but no acknowledgment or update. I’d understand if I wasn’t on the ER or something. But loads of credit cards, about 10 bank accounts and always verified electronically with no issue.Just hope I don’t miss the chance to initiate a switch.0

is it just me or do the calls from the local branch sound scammy? There's no way I would give switch details out over the phone6

I applied Wednesday afternoon and received an email immediately with with the heading 'thank you for your application' and the application reference within the email, Thursday about 5:30 I received the email 'new to bank current account application' and it confirms that I have been accepted subject to a few formalities, so hopefully things are moving on
to give an indication on timing a family member applied last year and received the acceptance email (2nd email) the same day as applying, then received internet username email 3 days later and sort code and account number email the day after5 -
If the offer is finishing tomorrow I would have thought Mse news would have alerted us. Also I find it a little odd some potential customers are getting calls from branches. Hopefully it is not a scam

It hasn't been officially announced by Co-op bank that it is ending tomorrow, just by people on here saying what someone on the phone told them.MABLE said:If the offer is finishing tomorrow I would have thought Mse news would have alerted us.
This rings alarm bells. Hopefully not.MABLE said:Also I find it a little odd some potential customers are getting calls from branches. Hopefully it is not a scam0 -
I applied for the account online on the 15th and gave my main current account details. I didn't enter switch details there as it seemed it wasn't easily possible to not switch the account that was entered earlier. I got a letter today saying my account should open soon unless their checks throw up something (after I had already gotten an email). I very much hope it's still possible to do the switch. I'm kinda surprised how slow the process is, many other banks give you new account details and access to their online banking more or less immediately.0

It is not a scam. I received a call today and following a 2nd call from a personal banker my account is now open, online bsnking is set ip and I have transferred money in and withdrawn money from my Co-op account.danny13579 said:
