Very pleased to hear heat is back on as colder temperatures everywhere it seems even if you haven’t got the white stuff. Amazing progress on winding up the business account too, shame P bee aren’t as efficient! Fingers crossed they too manage to make progress.5

Thank you everyone - the heat has been most gratefully received in the current weather. Our snow is melting now but forecast for v cold till Saturday.
Updates:
PBee basically acknowledged they have done nothing for a month but hopefully things now moving. I am grateful that it wasn't the only thing between us and starvation and that I get on well with my SSs and we presented a speedy and united front. I have no faith that they will get on with it going forwards but it is what it is.
Business bank, closure request in - up to ten working days
His current account (his ISAs) - closure request in, again up to ten working days, and hopefully the last few bits haven't pushed it onto needing probate. Not over 50k so at banks discretion I believe.
a couple of tiny cheques from DVLA which I think are the tax refund gaps between his death and the date of vehicle transfer and a very kind and helpful letter but I did have to send his driving licence back. I suppose I could have pretended it was lost, and I really don't know why I minded - another bit slipping away I guess.
Lots of admin done.
One of the hardest things to manage about grief for me is that I can't predict what tiny thing or noise, or smell will send me over the edge.
Small moments of joy though -
Tiny cat came to see me for a fuss and a purr in the night for the first time since she was a kitten. She only liked Mr Redo and I am very much her spare human even though I feed them all.

oh and the SW recipes, I will share once I have made them for myself but essentially syn free coronation chicken with mango, some really rather splendid sprout, bacon and cheese crustless quiche things, chickpea and onion pakora, and some chickpea patties that need fine tuning. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I admire just how much you've got done whilst dealing with grief. I hope those final few bits don't push it into probate for you 🤞🏼MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
