    I'm so sorry OBL. Passing in his sleep is as peaceful as can be, and he will have gone with the knowledge that you were there with him very recently. It's perhaps best that he didn't have to move to the nursing home and you didn't have those journeys to negotiate, though I know you would have done it for him.

    You're in my thoughts and prayers.

    Sending love @Onebrokelady.  He had a peaceful ending and without all the disruption of being moved.  It's good that you saw him so close to the end.  I don't want to impose any religious beliefs on you as not sure where you sit in all this but you will I think have a sense of all his love for you permanently and there will be times when it's very strong.     Sorry for your loss but pleased to hear his passing was peaceful. When my Dad was dying hospice staff said not to be surprised if he died whilst we were out of the room, saying it was a choice some made. Thinking of you and your daughter.
