Sorry things didn't go to plan, but how lovely to have a new pup friend!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Lovely to hear from you again, and the super news about your dog. I would imagine it takes a more experienced person to take on an older rescue, but it makes all the difference to that dog to have a home and someone special for him. A friend has four rescued dogs now and has somehow managed to get them all living alongside each other. The commitment that must take! I hope things continue to go well with yours and he's soon sure of his new home.
I also hope your daughter is recovering well from the flu. Really unfortunate timing (that and the lack of buses) - I hope you can get some quality time together soon. Think of it as an extended Christmas or New Year!
Happy New Year, with lots of dog walks and sunshine, time with your DDs and perhaps even some work on the dolls' house.

I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

That’s brilliant news you have a little dog to keep you company 😍 A neighbour got a Romanian rescue last year, he was so timid at first and cowered every time a car passed. He’s come on in leaps and bounds and it’s lovely to see him trotting along confidently now.I hope this year is a much better one for you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Your dog sounds lovely! My DD has some friends who have had Romanian dogs. One set of friends like you had two older dogs. They've both passed on now but at least they experienced love and comfort in their old age. Her other friend's dog is younger but such a dear affectionate little thing. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

The older dogs are more set in their ways and Romanian dogs are reputed to come with lots of problems because they’ve been living on the streets and are then rounded up and taken to kill shelters where they are not treated nicely 😢 they are extremely intelligent though and pick things up really quickly, his recall on a long lead is really good and that’s been a week of training, I wouldn’t trust him to come back if he was free though as they have a tendency to run off if they get spooked or distracted by things so it will be a while before he’s set free. I’m lucky though because he was ok having a collar on and walked on the lead which some of them won’t do, he doesn’t understand toys and might never play but can do other things with him. I’ve take him on long walks and just let him sniff as much as he wants which they love and I’m going to take him to the beach once he’s got used to his surroundingsCherryfudge said:Lovely to hear from you again, and the super news about your dog. Oops pressed the post button too soon 😀
DD2 has recovered from the nasty feeling ill part of the fly but it’s left her with a nasty cough and she still feels tired, I’m hoping she gets chance to relax this week while she’s on holiday. I felt sorry for her because all her Christmas plans went out the window so she didn’t get to do any of the things she was planning on doing with friends or family and of course being ill when you are on your own is horrible too.
I had a coffee table for my dolls house for Christmas so that’s been added to the living room, DD2 bought me a Book Nook to build as well so I started that todayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,756 Owed = £10,8746
