You’ve been very productive and sound so much brighter. It’s a shame the rehab group has come to an end but it’s great you’re planning to keep in touch. Sounds like the sessions have done you all good.I’m glad your mum is relatively ok after her fall. The ‘cute’ nose made me smile. The veggie sausages from Lid! are quite squishy and crumbly so they might make a good option for your casserole. They don’t have a skin on either.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

That's a great result from the rehab group!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

It sounds as if you’re on a roll. Enjoy the gym sessions. I was referred for a 12 week programme at my gym by the GP and it turned out I could subscribe for a year at a reduced rate….which I did. I’ve been enjoying going to aqua aerobics 👍January spends - £587.583

I just read through that post and saw the cute nose 😀😀definitely leaving it there as she does actually have a cute nose 🙂 I was on a roll that day that’s for sure, I don’t get days like that too often so I like to make the most of them. It was quite frustrating having the sofa there in a box, I did drape a throw over it though 😀Cherryfudge said:Goodness, what a lot you've got done! I would never have managed all that deep-cleaning in a day, let alone all the other things you've been up to. Great news about your readings after the rehab class.
Is it frustrating or exciting to have the new sofa so near and yet not quite there?
I'm not sure I should mention that you've written that your Mum has a 'cute' nose. That's far too sweet to change. I hope the black eyes are better soon.

I feel a lot more positive so long may it last, the rehab was great and reminded me how much I actually enjoy exercising. I’ll have a look at the Lidl sausages next time I’m out that way. Mums face has nearly healed along with her cute nose 😀Sun_Addict said:You’ve been very productive and sound so much brighter. I will enjoy them when they start but unfortunately there is a 12 week waiting list ☹️I’m going to carry on with my rehab exercises at home in the mean time. I think we can sign up for a reduced membership too so that will be good .milann said:It sounds as if you’re on a roll. Enjoy the gym sessions. My sofa was put together on Friday and I must say he was very efficient, he even brought his own coffee 😀 it only took him 40 minutes and I’m sure it took me longer than that to put the chair together when I got it.I stayed at DD2s on Friday night and it was a bit eventful because I choked on some food 😳 I seriously thought my time was up but she went into life saving mode and managed to get me to cough it up, thank god I wasn’t on my own😳 I’m now eating very slowly and carefully. My throat and chest are actually still irritated because I coughed so much. We had a nice evening chatting once I had recovered.Saturday we went to Dunelm to look at cushion covers but they didnt have anything, I saw some I liked but they only had one and it wasn’t the right size. I did buy a Christmas wreath for DD2 to put on her front door, I thought oat would be safe because she’s in a block of flats so it won’t be exposed to the weather.
Sunday I stayed at home and sewed my cross stitch for most of the day.
Monday I stayed at home and sewed all day
Today I was supposed to go and see my mum and go food shopping but I didn’t feel great so I didn’t go, it was also absolutely chucking it down. I stripped my bed instead and washed the bedding and my towels then I spent the day sewing. I’ve done quite a bit now which is good, I’m not sure if it will be finished in time for Christmas though 😀
Tomorrow I’m going out for coffee with DD1 which will be nice as we don’t see each other that often, she’s on holiday this week so has a free day.
The pulmonary fibrosis support group I belong to had some sad news on Sunday, one of the rehab people who only went to two sessions then became ill and ended up in hospital passed away on Sunday morning. He had been in hospital all that time fighting to overcome the infection he had but it was too much for him. I only met him twice and his wife once but he was a very friendly man, I feel so sorry for his family ☹️.I had my flu jab last week too and no ill effects as usual. I can’t get the covid jab so I’m thinking of paying for it ☹️
I also had a meeting with my boss and HR on Wednesday which was ok. I’ve now filled in the pension paperwork and given it to DD2 to give to my boss when she is at work. I had to write statement to support my application and I didn’t know what to write so DD2 went into OT mode and wrote it it for me and I copied that 😀 I thought she was writing an essay but it was only two pieces of paper 😀. Once that’s handed in my boss has to fill in her section which she is going to love because it’s very detailed, she had to write down all the help they’ve offered me and all the times Ive been off sick 😳 then it goes off to the occupational health doctor to fill out his bits before being sent to the pension people.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Phew, thank goodness your DD was with you when you choked and she responded appropriately. I would find it hard always to eat carefully but it would be a good habit to get into. Oddly enough, I've intervened in four chokings, and I'm not medically trained. Of course I can't be sure my intervention made a crucial difference (I just gave hefty whacks to the upper back) but they were all scary occasions.
I'm sorry to hear about the man from your group who died. Hard news for those who knew him, and so much harder for his family.
Good to hear your sofa is operational!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
