Just caught up with your diary OBL. I do hope you had a good Christmas and New Year's Eve.I am always amazed at how much you do - I ricked my back recently and have felt like an old crock but reading your diary makes really put things into perspective. I shall man up a bit now and stop feeling sorry for myself!

Hi everyone sorry I’ve been MIA again everything is ok I’ve just been really busy and had lots going on coupled with the dreaded fatigue that knocks you out.
Happy New Year to you all and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. My Christmas day didn’t happen because my daughter was meant to come over on Christmas Eve and stay until the 28th but she tested positive for flu A the day before so couldn’t come ☹️ we were so looking forward to it because she doesn’t normally get that long off for Christmas. So I didn’t see anyone on Christmas Day but i wasn’t alone because I have adopted a little dog from Romania and he arrived on the 13th of December, he’s approximately 8 years old ( will be 9 in June according to his birth date on his passport ) and looks like a border terrier, his name also begins with B 🙂 I went for an older dog because a younger one might outlive me 😬and no one picks the older dogs so I decided to give him a nice retirement. He’s settling in well and has picked up housetraining like a pro with no accidents in the house at all, he’s friendly with other dogs and cats and children and loves people, he’s a bit shy still but it’s all a big shock for him so I’m not doing too much with him yet. Hopefully we will get to have a few adventures before we both become to decrepit 😀 I’m now out walking him twice a day so getting lots of exercise and I’m walking up my hill which is huge so that’s good news, I couldn’t get up the hill back in the summer but can now if I walk slowly.
I spent Boxing Day with DD1 and my son in law plus my lovely grandsons and we had a really nice day with lots of fun playing board games, the boys got Mousetrap off their great aunt so we had fun playing that, it brought back lots of memories of me playing it myself as a child but I don’t think my girls had it, none of us can remember playing it . I did feel guilty though knowing that DD2 was all on her own at her place . I did do her an emergency food shop with lots of Christmas treats included which I dropped off outside her front door then retreated to a safe distance while she opened the door so we had a socially distanced chat on Christmas Eve .DD2 tested negative for the flu on the 27th so came over then as that was day 10 for her so not contagious at that point. We had our Christmas Day then with our presents and Christmas dinner and although it wasn’t the same it was still really nice. She stayed overnight which was nice and we got to at watch the Stranger Things episodes that had been released.I didn’t do anything for New years which is normal for me, I went to bed at ten but was woken up by loud fireworks at twelve so I went to check on the dog and he was hiding under the table 🙁I managed to coax him into his bed and then I sat on the floor giving him a cuddle while they went off, luckliy they finished after ten minutes so I could go back to bed.
I spent New Year’s Day home chilling out after going for a long walk which was nice. Today I was meant to be going to DD2s for our New year celebration but it didn’t happen because the bus didn’t turn up 😡 I waited outside in the freezing cold for 45 minutes and nothing arrived I messaged DD and we decided to do it another day because she is on holiday until the 11th, so yeah my Christmas and new year plans went awry. 2025 was a horrible year for me ( and quite a lot of other people too) and so I suppose it ended the same way
I didn’t ways the day though I did some washing ,took all the Christmas decorations down and had a good clean. I don’t normally do it until the 5th but I was bored so it was done today, the house looks bare now though 🙁Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,756 Owed = £10,8748 -
