    Hi
Not sure I’ve posted on here but I’ve kept up with your diary.
Just wanted to mention that I have a friend with IPF. She wasn’t offered any of the rehab or support you have had and I’m so pleased you’re getting lots of help. It will make a tremendous difference. What a great team you have around you. And such lovely supportive daughters. 🥰
You sound like a lady with a tremendous amount of determination and fortitude. I’m sure that will be of great help going forward. Still many years and smashing times ahead.
I would like to say that my friend is offered the covid jab as a matter of course because of her lungs. Perhaps double checking with your GP would be worth it.
Kind regards and warm wishes. X

Phew, thank goodness your DD was with you when you choked and she responded appropriately. I would find it hard always to eat carefully but it would be a good habit to get into. Oddly enough, I've intervened in four chokings, and I'm not medically trained. Of course I can't be sure my intervention made a crucial difference (I just gave hefty whacks to the upper back) but they were all scary occasions.

I'm sorry to hear about the man from your group who died. Hard news for those who knew him, and so much harder for his family.

Good to hear your sofa is operational!
I was so lucky I was with her when it happened, I was seriously scared 😟I coughed so much I lost the feeling in my arms.

Hi from being in support groups on FB I can say that services and care for people with IPF vary a lot and it’s a real postcode lottery. I’m lucky I live in a city whose hospital has a centre of excellence in ILDs so the care is very good. I do feel well supported now I’m in the system. We have checked with the GP and they aren’t offering Covid jabs unless you are over 75 or immunocompromised sadly ☹️

That’s sad news about the man form the support group.
i bet the sofa looks lovely…..is it comfortable?
Yes it was sad, feel so sorry for his family ☹️
The sofa looks great and I’m really pleased with it, it’s firmer than my old one but if it’s anything like the chair it will soften up a lot the more it’s used, I only sit in one spot so I’ve been rotating the cushions to wear them all in at the same time 😀

I had a lovely time with DD1 yesterday, we went for a coffee and had a good catch up then a mooch around the shops, I bought her an advent candle and holder in Sostrene Grene which I’m not really allowed in 😀.  I settled down to do some more of my cross stitch when I got home and it’s coming along quite nicely now.

Today I was meant to meet my friend for coffee but she had a family emergency so had to cancel. I went into town to get my shopping that I did get yesterday ( food ) because we ran out of time on the carpark, that will mean I don’t have to go in tomorrow when we are expected to get lots of rain due to storm Claudia. I am planning on staying indoors all day in the dry. I will definitely be doing some cross stitch at some point during the day and I also have some house jobs to do if I’m feeling up to it .

My chest has been feeling quite sensitive and irritated this week and I’m not sure if it’s still from me choking or if it’s just flaring up 🤷‍♀️. There was a lot of perfume on the bus today which I did struggle with ☹️I really need to remember to wear a mask on the bus. I also need to do my rehab exercises tomorrow, I’m doing them on the same day we did them on the course but I’ve also added in a Sunday too as I want to increase my fitness if I can.

I haven’t felt too good for the last couple of days with painful joints and feeling tired so I’m trying to not get too carried away but I’ll see how I feel tomorrow 🙂

I hope you have a restful day at home today, enjoying that new sofa 😉! Good idea to stay in, it's already raining and miserable here.

Does the colder weather make your joints worse ?
    January spends - £587.58
  • Does it ever. And it doesn't even get that cold here. I thought one of my fingers was doing fine - but the weather has shown me otherwise.
