I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't remember what I did yesterday! At the time it felt moderately useful, but I'm not sure why!

You have some interesting options there and it's nice you were given a choice and could go for what feels right for you. There's a lot of sense in opting for option one and staying out of the way of infections as much as possible.

Enjoy your meetup with your sister.

Glad the rehab went well, and good that you have options with the treatment.  Sounds like you've made the right choice.

It sounds as if you’ve made the right choice with the treatment plan. Hopefully the foam instead of feathers will work well for you.
I’m pleased you felt more positive when you came out of the class 👍

It amazes me how a memory can be wiped out completly like that , maybe it was too boring to remember 😀
I’m happy with the choices of treatment offered and I agree that it’s good idea to avoid going to the hospital as much as possible

Thanks, I’m enjoying the rehab it’s reminding me how much I actually like to exercise which is a good sign.

Wow I didn’t realise I hadn’t posted since last Tuesday, I’ve been so busy 😀
Wednesday I met my sister for breakfast and had a good chat and catch up. I had to go to DD2s after to wait for a plumber to come and fix her toilet. Then I took advantage and went to the big Sainsbury’s to get some fake bacon lardons because mine doesn’t sell them.

Thursday my friend messaged me at 9 to say she would meet me as normal only I wasn’t expecting her to meet me because she only got back from her holiday the night before so was still in bed at 11.15 when I saw the message 😳 , I messaged her back saying I might be a bit late but I was ready in 45 minutes and out the door and I got there dead on time at 12.30, it was funny because I got ready so quick that I rushed doing my makeup and hair then someone complimented me on my hair in the coffee shop 😀.

Friday was my second rehab class and that went well although getting there and back wasn’t as easy as the week before as the buses weren’t running properly as usual. I leave there at 3.30 and don’t get home until 5pm it’s literally one side of the city to the other but there’s so many road works and diversions it just throws everything out. I am now embracing the fact that I don’t have to rush anywhere so I’m trying not to get wound up about it. When I got home it was lovely and sunny and I felt very energetic so I cut the grass in the front garden in case it rained on Saturday.

Saturday I was too tired to do much so I had a relaxing day not doing much at all.

Sunday was a more productive day as I felt like I had a bit more energy so I cleaned out the chicken run and took it apart. I’m not sure the lady who wanted it will still want it now because I noticed two of the panels are rotten on the bottom corners, it’s fixable if your good at diy so her husband might still be able to sort it for her. I wore a mask which was horrible but I couldn’t do it without and it was covered in spiders which was a bit nerve wracking, DD2 had offered to do it but there’s no way she would have coped with the spiders 😀

DD2 is on holiday this week so I went over to hers today and we went on a walk where she lives. There’s a farm with piglets that you can feed and they are so cute, there’s also chickens which we did go and see but we kept distance. There also a farm shop with an honesty box but moving with the times you could also pay with your phone so I bought some heritage tomatoes and DD bought some peppers and eggs which were all different colours , they had lots of different veg for sale and loads of edible pumpkins too but sadly we couldn’t carry too much. The walk turned out to be 2.5 hours long which we broke up by going for a  coffee at a local cafe that is supplied by another farm shop. I managed to walk with several breaks but my legs are really aching now. When went to rehab last week she said don’t be afraid of getting out of breath so long so you recover fairly quickly your doing ok and of course the fitter you are the more efficient your body is in using oxygen. I just hope I can walk tomorrow for my rehab class.

I’ve also been watching tv this week which is unusual for me but The House Of Guiness is on Netflix so I decided to watch that, I’m really enjoying it but it’s got mixed reviews, it made by the same people who made Peaky Blinders which I also loved.

Tomorrow I’ve got rehab so that will take up most of the day then on Wednesday I’m going to my favourite beach for a walk with DD2 and I expect we will get chips while we are there. We always used to take B to this beach and she would have a sausage, we haven’t  been since she’s been gone so I’m not sure how it will go but we have to go at some point.
DD2 is still trying to persuade me to get another dog but im not sure it’s a good idea, I would love another dog but I would hate to rehome one and then have to rehome it if my health declines. I applied to the Cinnamon Trust to become a forever foster but they rejected me because I don’t have a car ☹️ I liked the idea because you take in a dog who’s owner has either gone into a home or died but they pay for all vet bills and the dog remains under their guardianship so if anything happens to the fosterer the dog goes back to them but it’s not to be.

Your walk with your daughter sounds really nice. I try to have a bag snuck into a pocket for occasions when I might want to buy something or find forage-able fruit - perhaps you could do similarly? You never know what you might come across!

What a shame the Cinnamon Trust weren't accommodating. Could one of your daughters be a sort of guarantor of car availability, perhaps? After all you have experience and time to offer, which would be so helpful to a dog needing a long-term foster home. After all, if they are thinking of the car as a way to get the dog to the vet, then there must be plenty of people whose car is in for an MOT, broken down, borrowed by a family member, etc, and thus not 100% available.

What about Oldies Club?  They only deal with dogs 8 and over, they have no kennels so need fosterers for dogs under their care.  They advertise dogs for other rescues so make sure you check its their dogs you are looking at.

We took on a couple who were with them, they'd lived down south, owner into care, been in foster halfway up the country for 4 or 5 months then brought to us after we applied.   We had one for a year and the other carried on a further year and a half

One of my neighbours fosters dogs.  His current one is 13 & has a heart murmur which seems to be involving regular vet visits & this could be the problem.  There is one vets less than a mile away & I suspect at least over a dozen in a ten mile radius.  But this dog needs to go to one over 20 miles away.  If he didn't have a vehicle that could be a serious problem.
