What a shame about the Cinnamon Trust. These charities set the bar too high then wonder why they can't rehome their animals. We've managed perfectly well without a car for most of our dog's 13 years.
It must be a relief to you that you're finally getting the treatment you've been needing for some time.
It will be tough going to B's beach without her but she'll be there in spirit looking for that sausage I'm sure.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
I think I’ve made an expensive mistake😢😢 I picked my cushions up for my sofa on Thursday and they look and feel great but I put them on the sofa last night and after a while I began to feel a bit wheezy and had a headache which I decided might be a cold starting, fast forward to today when I sat on the sofa for a couple of hours this morning and they smell very strongly of a chemical smell which I didn’t notice last night. I went off for my rehab class with a persistent cough which is also a symptom of this illness but not one I have much unless I have a chest infection but I didn’t feel ill. Fast forward to this evening and I’m sat on my sofa and wheezing away then my tongue starts tingling and I now know that’s an allergic reaction ,it then dawns on me that foam can contain latex and I’m highly allergic to latex. I did some research on foam filler and some of it does contain latex so I’ve got to phone the shop tomorrow to see if they know what their foam is made of, if it’s got latex in it they will have to go and I’ve got rid of the feather cushions now 😢😢

Oh no, that's not good. I suppose at least you knew that's an allergen for you, so you've saved yourself spending overmuch time near them.
If the allergy has shown itself before, could it be connected with your condition?
Would kapok work as an alternative filler?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The problem with the cushions is that I’ve just paid £200 to have them refilled with an alternative to feathers which is a lot of money to waste. I could use something like Kapoc but it would cost quite a lot to buy the quantity I needOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Last night was very windy and rainy here so I went to bed with my window slightly open to listen to the weather while waiting to go to sleep. I love wild windy weather . This morning it was monsoon like rain with hail wind and a bit of thunder thrown in so I had breakfast in bed while watching the trees being blown about all over the place. My new blind date with a book this month turned out to be My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Muarier , I love Rebecca so was hoping this would be good and so far it’s really enjoyabl, the perfect read for a dark rainy October day 🙂
THE sun came out for most of the afternoon but I decided to have a relaxing day so spent it in my arm chair reading with plenty of tea.The saga of the cushions goes on as I bagged them up last night and put them away in the spare room and today my chest was feeling ok nearly all day but we bought some mint flavored rock at the beach so I had a bite of that and about an hour later I felt wheezy again 😳 I have had a reaction to mint flavouring before so I’m now wondering if it was the rock so that’s gone in the bin just in case. I’m going to leave the cushions off the sofa tomorrow then see how I am and if I’m ok I will try with them again on Monday, I’m going out in the morning but can put them on the sofa while I’m out then see what happens when I get home then I’ll know for sure if it’s the cushions or not. I will phone the shop as well but couldn’t face it today.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
Mr d wonders if the glue they've likely used to glue pieces together might have latex in it. Its used to give it flexibility over the joins

Aarrgghhhh woke up this morning with a headache and painful throat. It’s not sore like a sore throat but hurt on one side when I swallowed. I gargled with some diluted TCP amd that seems to have helped. When went to my rehab on Friday the man that sits next to me was saying he hasn’t had a good start to the day because he had had to have an ambulance called out for him due to low oxygen levels and trouble breathing, I asked him if he though he should be there and he said the ambulance crew said to go as it was probably just low lying virus 😳 I’m hoping he hasn’t given me a lurgy because he was coughing the whole time he was there.I’ve got the dentist in the morning and if I cancel now I will be charged ☹️ for not going to my appointment, so annoying.
I haven’t done anything today apart from lounge around looking at stuff on the internet. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow 🤞🤞Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8940 -
