Oh no, that's not good. I suppose at least you knew that's an allergen for you, so you've saved yourself spending overmuch time near them.

If the allergy has shown itself before, could it be connected with your condition?

Would kapok work as an alternative filler?

I was diagnosed with a severe latex allergy after having DD2. I had an epidural and had a really bad allergic reaction to the drug which resulted in me becoming allergic to latex so I’ve had it for 37 years. I can’t touch balloons or be in a room with lots of balloons, no rubber bands, some bras have latex grip strips which I can’t have. It also crosses over into some foods so I can’t chestnuts, fresh pineapple ( tinned pineapple is ok because the canning process changes the proteins in the pineapple that I’m allergic too) I can eat bananas but they have to be ripe or they affect me and I have to avoid kiwi because although I can eat the flesh the skin is an irritant to me. My immune system is very sensitive to lots of chemicals like wash powder and fabric conditioners, peoples perfume and aftershave. I’m highly allergic to Lillies and hyacinths too all since having an allergic reaction to an epidural. I can’t have the hepatitis vaccine we are supposed to have for work because it contains latex and I can’t have erythromycin antibiotic either.

The problem with the cushions is that I’ve just paid £200 to have them refilled with an alternative to feathers which is a lot of money to waste. I could use something like Kapoc but it would cost quite a lot to buy the quantity I need

Last night was very windy and rainy here so I went to bed with my window slightly open to listen to the weather while waiting to go to sleep. I love wild windy weather . This morning it was monsoon like rain with hail wind and a bit of thunder thrown in so I had breakfast in bed while watching the trees being blown about all over the place. My new blind date with a book this month turned out to be My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Muarier , I love Rebecca so was hoping this would be good and so far it’s really enjoyabl, the perfect read for a dark rainy October day 🙂
THE sun came out for most of the afternoon but I decided to have a relaxing day so spent it in my arm chair reading with plenty of tea.

The saga of the cushions goes on as I bagged them up last night and put them away in the spare room and today my chest was feeling ok nearly all day but we bought some mint flavored rock at the beach so I had a bite of that and about an hour later I felt wheezy again 😳 I have had a reaction to mint flavouring before so I’m now wondering if it was the rock so that’s gone in the bin just in case. I’m going to leave the cushions off the sofa tomorrow then see how I am and if I’m ok I will try with them again on Monday, I’m going out in the morning but can put them on the sofa while I’m out then see what happens when I get home then I’ll know for sure if it’s the cushions or not. I will phone the shop as well but couldn’t face it today.

Mr d wonders if the glue they've likely used to glue pieces together might have latex in it.  Its used to give it flexibility over the joins

Aarrgghhhh woke up this morning with a headache and painful throat. It’s not sore like a sore throat but hurt on one side when I swallowed. I gargled with some diluted TCP amd that seems to have helped. When went to my rehab on Friday the man that sits next to me was saying he hasn’t had a good start to the day because he had had to have an ambulance called out for him due to low oxygen levels and trouble breathing, I asked him if he though he should be there and he said the ambulance crew said to go as it was probably just  low lying virus 😳 I’m hoping he hasn’t given me a lurgy because he was coughing the whole time he was there.
I’ve got the dentist in the morning and if I cancel now I will be charged ☹️ for not going to my appointment, so annoying.

I haven’t done anything today apart from lounge around looking at stuff on the internet. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow 🤞🤞

Oh what a shame about the cushions 🙁 Could you return them?

I hope you feel better soon and haven’t picked anything up from the bloke at rehab.
