The Diary Of Onebrokelady Aged 60 And A Half

Felt fine this morning so went to meet my friend for coffee and now I feel like carp again. I did keep my distance while we were together and we didn’t hug like we usually do so hopefully she won’t catch anything 😟 I will feel awful if she is ill too . Our Costa was closed due to technical issues so we had to go somewhere else, we wasn’t to a local independent that I like as they do lovely muffins 😍😍.
I had a cleaning spree when I got home and chucked a load of washing on, I should have done it in the morning because it would have dried today but I didn’t get up in time so it’s had to go on the airer. I also changed my bed so I’ve got nice fresh bedding tonight and I finally made my vege pasta bake that was supposed to make on Monday.
The person wanting the settee messaged to say they can only pick it tomorrow or on Saturday after 4 pm so I don’t need to stay over at DDs now as I don’t need to get there until the afternoon. DD won’t actually be there because shes going to a harvest dinner with her friend, they did ask me to go but I said no thank god or we would have been stuck .
I’m not going to rehab tomorrow because although I felt better this morning I don’t feel too good now so it’s not worth the risk . I’m disappointed because this was one of the sessions I was particularly interested in but can’t do anything about it now. If I feel up to it I will be putting my garden furniture back in the loft for the winter. I also really need to finish a cross stitch I started ages ago, the frame it was on was too big so I bought a smaller one but it’s a Christmas design so I didn’t feel like stitching it over the summer 😀 but now the dark nights are back I think it will be good to get it done.
I can’t believe it’s October and I’ve been walking round in a t shirt all week. I know it’s often mild down here in the autumn but not t shirt weather. I looked at my garden today and it’s absolutely covered in leaves and seed pods from, the sycamore trees so that’s another job waiting to be done. Last year I left all the leaves until they all came down and it was really hard work clearing them up so this year I keep doing them every week, there’s still loads to come down though ☹️I love May trees but I wish they were evergreen 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
It's a shame you will have to miss that session of rehab. Will it come round again?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The course is rerun but I don’t know how often, I will ask next week if I can sit in on the next one, they do give you a handout that pretty much copies the discussion but obviously you miss the chance to ask questions.Cherryfudge said:It's a shame you will have to miss that session of rehab. Well today was a washout I didn’t feel too good at all so didn’t do anything. I hate days like this as it’s such a waste of time. I didn’t get up into the loft so the chairs are still in the spare room.I haven’t got anything to report because I haven’t done anything 😀 I’m still going to DD2s tomorrow to sort the sofa out but that’s all I’m doing, I will come home as soon as they’ve collected it mainly because I’ll have nowhere to sit 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944

Taking chairs on the bus sounds hard work to me. I’d come home and relax 👍January spends - £587.583

Today was not a good day for having to go out because I felt like I’ve been run over by a truck, my joints are so painful but I’m in bed now so covered in Pernaton warming muscle rub ( works great on my joints 😀) I’ve taken my painkillers and I’m feeling a bit better.
I went to DDs to wait for the people coming to collect the sofa ,they were meant to be there at 4 but turned up at 6 as I was about to leave☹️ . They were very nice people though so I forgave them and they managed to carry it down two flights of stairs without taking it apart which was so much easier, the bonus is DD also had a wooden chest she needed to get rid of and they took that as well 🍾🥳🍾 she now has plenty of room for her new sofa.It was a nightmare getting home, my first bus came straight away but I had to wait 45 minutes for the bus to my house which is not fun when you are in pain.
I came home to some good news though about my ESA claim. There was a letter explaining that I was being paid £56 a week from May but from August this has gone up to £105 a week because I now meet the criteria to be put into the support group. I also now don’t need to look for work or do any work related activities which is good and I also qualify for the Christmas bonus of £10 🙂 . I can now stop worrying about whether I get my pension or not. I’m really hoping I do get it because I don’t want to be claiming benefits if I don’t need to but it’s nice to know I have a safety net until it’s sorted out and they say no I won’t be stuck with no money. I’m obviously going to be living on a lot less than I was when I was working and getting my pension but it will be enough to live on with a little bit spare.
I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow it depends on my pain levels, I have a list of jobs to pick from so will see how I feel .Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8948 -
I'm sorry you're in such pain, I hope the gel is helping.
That's really good news about the ESA and not having to look for work.
I'm relieved on your behalf that you can relax without that hanging over you anymore. I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
