Sounds like a lovely way to celebrate a birthday. Hope you had a lovely time with your Dd.
The batch cooking is THE way forward. It makes sense on so many levels.
Hope your day in work passes quickly so that you can enjoy the days off 👍

I do always make four portions of whatever I’m cooking but think maybe making several different meals for the freezer is the way to go. We had a lovely evening celebrating birthday thanks 🙂

Thank you we had a lovely time and it was so much more relaxing than going out for a meal. Yes a really need to get my self into properly batch cooking, I always cook four portions of whatever I’m making but then I normally just eat that for four day, it would be nice to have several different meals to choose from. I made bolognese yesterday and two of those have gone in the freezer.

    Well done on the painting!

I love your stand on the big river store.  I'm not quite there yet but definitely using it less.

I hope you manage to get things sorted at work, and definitely walk away if you can if they won't help you.

With you on the boycott, OBL. We don't use the store you mention unless it is the ONLY source of buying an item we absolutely need & can't find elsewhere. This almost never happens - maybe once every couple of years. It's so hard to fight the system but at least I can put my money where my mouth is.
Well done on the painting btw.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

I tried to boycott before but having to order pet supplies always scuppered my chances. I really don’t need to use them now I don’t have any pets as I can get my chicken feed elsewhere. I bought paint directly from wickes this week and had it delivered and that worked really well.

I just kept thinking that I managed before the big river store so must be able to do without it now and so far it’s been quite easy.
