Morning all. Hope everyone is OK.
An exhausting day yesterday, with long motorway drives to a very noisy concert (a choir of 5,000 primary school children) and back again very late, but I slept well with a HWB at my back and didn't wake up until 8.20Hopefully now I shall get through the day without another nap.
Plan for today:
- finance check
- WMx2 and TD (first load has been washed, 2nd is ready to go in)
- move bags/piles of books downstairs, ready for a friend to collect tomorrow for herself and her daughter (started)
- breakfast, shower and wash my hair, dress, make my bed
- message another friend about collecting/delivering the books she wants- FUPA yesterday's washing (part done - the sheets and duvet cover are still airing)
- take meat for tea out of the freezer
- meeting with the churchwarden at 11.00 to discuss EcoChurch
- drop off a bag of girls' clothes from K at the CS in the 'village' (actually a suburb now, but still likes to think of itself as a village!) and go to the lovely crafts shop next door to buy *only* a zip for M's hoodie
- pick up prescription
- walk Rosie
- lunch
- routine echocardiogram appointment
- quick visit to MrS on way home
- cook tea
- collapse in a heap and watch the Dragons.
Have a good day, and be kind to yourself if you need it xxx
Better be off to my meeting!8 -

Plan for today updated - if it's gone, it's done:
- message a friend about collecting/delivering the books she wants
- drop off a bag of girls' clothes from K at the CS in the 'village' (actually a suburb now, but still likes to think of itself as a village!) and go to the lovely crafts shop next door to buy *only* a zip for M's hoodie [no free parking spaces available nearby, and the bag is heavy, so I'll try again next time I'm in the village]
- cook tea
- hang half-dry washing on bathroom radiators
- collapse in a heap and watch the Dragons.
It's horribly cold and damp out... time to hunker down with a cuppa and more stollen!8 -
@flamingo747 I hope your covid test was negative.@pigpen I hope you've had more to eat now - that's not enough to keep a fly going.I was woken this morning by a phone call from the cleaning company to say the cleaner for the communal areas was outside ringing the bell but no one was answering. I remembered that the door entry system wasn't working yesterday but had not got around to looking into it. I had to dress quickly and go down and let her in but on the way down I saw someone from one of the other flats who had already let her in. It subsequently turned out that someone had turned off the electricity supply for the entry phone - goodness knows why. After doing the first lot of eye drops I made A a coffee and then went to the hospital to pick up a prescription for him. I had a bit of a wait so decided to have a coffee from the Costa concession which is next to the hospital pharmacy. It was £4.25 for a medium coffee with oat milk, which I thought was oot and I shouldn't have bothered if I'd known. On the way back I stopped off at the local shops to look for a card for A's cousin's birthday and to get a slice of bacon for his supper, and the paper.I made lunch and washed up and decided to ring D&G. Our white goods are insured with them and the renewal came through for the washer/dryer. It had gone up from £16.50 pm to £22 - an increase of 35%. Having had success in challenging the Green Flag renewal quote I rang them and said I wasn't willing to accept such a large increase. To my surprise the reduced it - to £12. Result!I had just come off the phone when the postman came with a parcel. I had barely closed the door to him when I Hate Ironing came for the shirts and then shortly afterwards an Ocado delivery arrived - it's been like Piccadilly Circus here this afternoon. I then made tea and had a slice of our dwindling Christmas cake and am now about to wash up.9

CofG the Yorkshire Auction House is only a couple of miles away from me, I vaguely know the bloke who owns it. Very small claim to fame.
I feed tired, headachy, anxious and fed up. Not sleeping properly is not helping but don't know what to do. I don't drink caffeine or alcohol, don't stay on my devices late and there are no other reasons for being so restless at night, well except for the fact that I am nearly 52 so it could well be hormones. Mind you I didn't have any issues over the Christmas holidays.
I have done a day in the office at the paid stuff, been to look at a house with DS1, been for a blood test to check my Thyroid function and done 20 minutes on the spinning bike.
I want to sleep right now but that's a bad idea isn't it?9 -
Hi all,
Very little flying achieved today. Who am I kidding? I think it is, to date, none. Mr M delivered (early, but he called me to apologise - not a problem), DH took the shopping in and has hopefully housed some as otherwise there is very, very little for £50+. I put the remaining bits away when I got home, including sugar for Marmalade Day. Wm loaded for tomorrow. DH is cooking. This is an absolute rarity. Even more so, as he is following a recipe. Admittedly a shove it all in a tray into the oven type recipe, but he is treating this as An Event. Saves me from cooking (looking on the positive side 🤣).
Flowerpot, that's not a disaster. Sometimes it is all about cuddling the dog 😉9 -
Evening all.
Just the dailies done today. Did a work shift and a long walk with Poppet. I was fasting for a blood test this afternoon as it was the only time I could get off the paid stuff to go. They've ditched the appointment system they had during covid so is now walk ins. My head was pounding by 3pm and there were 120 people in front of me so I came home.
Going to leave the dinner plates until the morning to wash up.Spend less now, work less later.9
