Popping by to say that all things on my list done, plus some of the dreaded paperwork. Dinner cooked, lots of veg on the plate to try to hide from DH the fact that other portion sizes might just be getting ever so slightly smaller in the name of slinky. I’ve weighed myself in kilos, ‘cos they’re not real numbers, are they?! I even snuck in HH sewing this evening, but now I am flopped, looking for motivation to knit the second mitten, which will take me way longer than it would take Pigpen.
Welcome to Flowerpot - I am constantly falling off this wagon, don’t let that stop you from joining us.
Hugs to ASB, but well done on the win.
Welcome back, HB!
CoG - another who likes reading your updates. Mine bore me to tears, so it’s nice to read everyone else’s!10 -
And i have been felled by the worst side effect … *gives silent thanks for moist toilet tissue, loperamide and scented candles*. I am in bed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

@Cloth_of_Goldsaid: "you should have rung Flyladies' very own plumber extraordinaire @roundtuit She would have sorted you out without a doubt" Quite right! But I fear she is too far away so I wouldn't expect her to travel so far at such short notice and the washing up pile was increasing by the half-hour!... Also, your posts aren't boring at all to me - please continue, I love the way you clearly care for A but still manage to do your own thing now and then...
@Flowerpot the pick up 10 things from the floor strategy is a good target – even if you only do 10 things over all rooms rather than 10 things from EACH room
…
@Pigpen mentioned the lovely Toots – She was brilliant at finding positives everywhere when others couldn’t even find a smidgeon of a positive. Although she was very ill and sadly passed away eventually, she outdid Pollyanna in her wisdom and mental strength in looking on the bright side. She was a great asset to this forum... Even though I’ve been absent from this forum for a few years, I often thought of her from back in the day and she is still v. much missed. She was really inspiring in her outlook...
Today I completed the washing up from last night, cooked lunch and dinner and had an afternoon nap because I'm really tired... Also did the Mr T order with delivery for tomorrow morning.
Hopefully I'll be able to do more tomoz... Have a lovely evening peeps and I hope you all manage to sleep well...xxx

(((Hugs))) Valli I hope you can get some rest.
CoG Another here who enjoys your posts - I relate a lot to them as I was a full-time carer to my adult son for 9 years, it can be a lonely life. I am now in the position where my DH acts as my carer. So no worries, carry on with your posts

HB I’ve missed you, lovely to have you back xx
DD was absolutely freezing when I picked her up from football, they’d played the match outside in t shirts and shorts 🥶 . Bagged around £25 of stuff for £6 in my yellow sticker hunt, then had a chat on the phone with DS’ headteacher. He has started getting upset about me and his dad all of a sudden again, and had a cry at school today. I’ve had a good chat with him and he seems okay now.In sad news my mum messaged me earlier to say her DH has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. They half expected it I think but that, combined with her health problems (both mental and physical) is going to make for a challenging few months.
The dogs are fast asleep in front of the kitchen fire and I’m going to head to bed to read soon. Dropping the blasted cockerels off at another farm in the morning, means a short drive into Cumbria but I’ll walk the dogs at Tan Hill when I go past to make it worth it for them too.Sleep well all xxThank you ASB. I always think my updates are too long and boring so I'm pleased you like them. I have no one much to talk to all day apart from A so it's nice to come on here and 'chat' away lol. I am always busy, as you say, but most posters on here, including you, seem to be very busy, and I feel that my life compared to many, is a doddle lol. Before I go to bed I'm going to send the ISP another e-mail, also e-mail the company who sent me the scarf that looks nothing like it does on the website and also reply to a friend, whom I used to work with, but lost contact with during the pandemic. I sent her a Christmas card and she sent me a long email saying how pleased she was to hear from me and that her husband had had a lot of health problems. I've been meaning to reply for ages but just haven't got around to it - now is the day though! My very dear friend, who died a year ago tomorrow, had prostate cancer. He had it for 20 years though and although of course I don't know your mum's DH's circumstances it is often very treatable and there is a lot of research being done and lots of new treatments are being developed. I will say a prayer for him and your mum tonight.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Welcome Flowerpot.
- gym swim
- stopped off to spend c00p vouchers on the way home and got the last box of gf mince pies (I rest my case about festive food....) which pleased me as I was down to my last pie. Also got reduced carrots, teacakes for Mr N and 'member offer' mushrooms so it was worth stopping.
- sat too long reading in the conservatory as the sun was so lovely and it was so cold everywhere else.
- did a bit more knitting
- put some clothes away
- did a load of washing up mainly to warm my hands up
- put more CPD on computer, nearly done now.
- Mr N got his bit of my LPA signed so it is ready to go after I've signed the back page which doesn't require a witness. We're part way going through the same process with his.
- curiously the film which had disappeared from the cinema web site yesterday has reappeared today, so we went and got our Meerkat Movie 2 for 1 plus senior discount, so £8.99 for the two of us to get in. Plus I put some peanuts in a tupperware box for us to snack on so no temptations with popcorn or chocolate. At least that means I won't have to worry if I'm late home from uni tomorrow and rushing to the cinema. Also means I can drop into the big Ald! on my way home as C00p had no bananas.
- we went to the early (5.10) film so came home and jointly prepared dinner for tonight and I've filled the slow cooker ready to turn on tomorrow as I leave the house.

@valli I hope that my question didn't seem insensitive - I didn't realise what the reason was. The demands of how and when medication has to be taken as well as the side effects can be very, very tough I know. I bet you're glad to get that first year out of the way. The summer will come very quickly and then you will be past the half way mark. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement. Here's my final update of the day.Despite being a last-minute throw together the lamb casserole was nice, and there is enough left for tomorrow, although this morning I took a pack of vegetarian sausages out of the ice box. I should have just taken a couple out and put the rest of the packet back as A won't eat them. Oh well, it's a good job I like them as I've got 3 days' worth to eat.I took the first lot of TDing out and it didn't seem to have made much progress so I put it back in for a bit longer but still it wasn't much dryer. I put it back again but the same result. I wondered if the heating element had gone but then I realised that I'd washed on synthetics because the cycle is shorter and I was in a hurry to get the two loads finished and the only difference I can tell between that and a cotton cycle is that it jiggles the washing more vigorously. Of course it dries at a lower temperature though and I'd forgotten about that so once I'd put it back on cotton it was plain sailing. What a dope. I wasted a lot of time though so am still TDing now at gone midnight! After we'd eaten I washed up, e-mailed the scarf company and, to my surprise, someone replied really quickly, despite it being gone 9pm. They asked for photos, which I took and sent to them. I then e-mailed the ISP about the gift card and replied to my friend. I noticed that the 3 amaryllises looked a bit thirsty so gave them some water, set-up A's breakfast things, did his night time eye routine and now he's pushing out zzzzzzzs. I'll just read for 10 minutes and then go to bed.10

Good morning all,
So sorry to read this Valli, I am sending you lots of gentle hugs and hope that it subsides, if it hasn't already.
Thanks for the kind wishes, onwards and upwards today. DS room is finished!!! Never again (where is the rolling on the floor laughing emoji when you need it?!) I have the dustsheets in the WM now, and need to unload the DW. I have let the dogs out for a run, and paid the electric bill (again, where is the blue haired emoji lady when you need her?!)
In and amongst paid stuff I need to re-set DS room, clear out and re-lit the LR fire, ideally hoover upstairs (but let's not get too carried away!) and sort the cockerels. I hope everyone has a lovely day, it's wonderful seeing the thread so busy. I enjoy reading what everyone is up to, we all have such different lives and I enjoy the variety immensely. This little corner of the internet is just the best.
Take care all xx10 -

I feel much better now but waking up has been hard, despite the early night, as another side effect is fatigue which i’ve noticed accompanies a bad bout of the one that I need loperamide for. I’d sack off work today but for the fact i have two things arranged with other people. But i won’t be doing a long shift. And there are dark chocolate kit kats in my drawer.
ASB well done on DS’s room.

Take care all xxDitto.Hear hear.Today I will be shuffling laundry again as we don't have a tumble drier so drying it goes on a bit but we're getting there, catching up on some Foodbank Christmas paperwork and whatever else I can think of to put off dusting. Not sure where the palm oil discussion originated because I haven't caught up yet, but we've been palm oil free in this house for several years now. It's meant I've had to learn to bake digestive biscuits and oatcakes rather than buy them and forego a lot of so-called chocolate we I used to love, like m@ltesers and t3rry's chocolate orange, but that's okay because I've got time to read labels when I shop, and can afford it. I loathe the stuff but it's in everything, including some washing up liquids (yes fa!ry, I'm talking about you) and various washing powders as well as food.Catching up, back soon. Thanks for all the welcome backs. Much appreciated and I really mean that. There's a sort of bleakness to the post Christmas, post New Year, post Belovéd's birthday period which I'm gradually coming to terms with but this isn't my favourite time of year so positives from the Lovely Flyladies and Gents are doing me the world of good.
Better is good enough.10
