Flower~pot {{waves}}This seems like a nice friendly part of the forum! I have been reading and trying to get motivated to clean the house, its got in quite a state. I am also trying to declutter, less stuff less mess right?!!I would like to join in, but a bit worried I will full off the wagon before I make much of a start!!I had a last minute cancellation this morning for work so have a bit more time time than expected so I have popped on a wash and picked up 10 things from my bedroom to put away and 10 things from DDs room (all bowls and cups!!) and started on the kitchen sink area. The pick up 10 things is something I always think I can do that even if Im feeling overwhelmed or exhausted and very often it leads to another 10 or starting something else which is all good!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Hello Flowerpot 👋
Sometimes I'm hanging on to the Flylady wagon with one fingernail, but I've found that, if I keep posting, I keep doing. Fluttering more than flying but it still works. I've made some lovely friends on this thread and I now have floor in every room. 😊
I'm back from the dentist's- no plaque, no gingivitis, quick xray, all fine, see you in a year. Met my aunt lingering on the dentist's doorstep so had a quick catch up before she went in and I went to visit Mr Al. All groceries have been put away, and shopping bags hung where they hang.
Cor, that wind is bitter. 🥶
Right. I'm going to change into my scruffs, have a coffee and then do HH Admin.

Hello Flowerpot, welcome to the thread. Oooh another decluttered - you're among friends here. I'm in a constant state of decluttering since we moved house 😉
Don't worry about falling off the wagon before you start - you've done really well already with your 10 things from each room. But don't beat yourself up if you do fall off just do what you can, when you can, and then climb back in when you can. I'm always in a constant state of falling off the wagon that I'm considering setting up a tent underneath for the future 😀
Enjoy your time here and do what you can 😀Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Welcome Flowerpot.. I think a lot of us find checking in regularly helps us stay focused and on task.. Apart from me.. I am inherently lazy.. and busy.. and have stuff thrown at me from all angles and easily distracted.. so I post often to remind me of the squillions of things I will never get done. Don't try to do everything all at once.. On the first post there is a fabulous welcome guide from the late, extra-great, very much loved and missed Toots.. make a cuppa & give it a read.
we get lots of new people every January.. some stay, some lurk and many leave us behind.. but you are very welcome to pop by should you have a free day, even if you do fall off the wagon.. we tie you on and drag you behind like a mule
or we cling on to your hands waiting to pull you back up.. we are pretty chill.
I think we need to run the delutter challenge again.. get some stuff sold and make some space.
Income challenge.. I will start this.. £50 by the end of the month.. not setting the goal too high.. people are skint and I am too busy to get anything much listed I think.
Cuppa and then I might shuffle some laundry.
and knit the second mitten i started on friday.. they take about an hour each and i just haven't had time

Thank you for the warm welcome. After posting I went and tidied another 10 items from the 2nd hall. Which led to putting work files away and wiping down the surface. Which led to putting the recycling out. Yey!
I am currently in the car waiting for my DD to finish her lesson and so I could make a list of jobs!!! I spend a lot of time waiting in the car!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Welcome FlowerPot and any other new arrivals that I've missed whilst my head has been in a spin for the past month (it's calming down nicely now
).
It's a beautiful sunny day here, but very windy and cold if you venture outside. However, I have suggested to DH that we take Rosie up to the forest for lunch and a walk, as I have hardly been out anywhere in decent weather for weeks, and it's quite sheltered in the forest - though it will be interesting to see how far the flooding extends around the big river. I know that the town bridge is one-way traffic, but the higher bypass bridge is open both ways. I have put on my thermal long johns and Rosie is already getting excited at the prospect of a sausage in the café, but for now we are still here, waiting for DH to come back from SW.
This morning I have
- checked finances
- watered the houseplants
- PUPA in the LR
- S&S'd kitchen and bathroom
- emptied bins
- decluttered some more books and a few CDs. Was it on here that I saw the mention of Ziffit, or was it over on Mrs SD's Decluttering Thread? I thought I might try my luck on there with the more specialist books that I want rid of, and was surprised to find that just five of them would bring in a bit of money to put towards the new bedroom curtains that I have promised myself. Every little helps!
- decluttered some underwear which is now too baggy on me, despite the chocolate overload
- done WMx2, TDx1
- put a hearty stew in the SC for tea.
I must also
- order DGS2's birthday present
- buy cards for a 14yo and a 93yo
- put the oven racks in the DW
- spread hm oven cleaner (a paste of bicarbonate of soda) around the oven and leave overnight
- check that I've got some white vinegar.
DH has just come home, so we can go out now. Catch up later xxx9 -
Excellent work ASB - don't spend it all at once
Welcome Flowerpot -just remember it didn't get into a mess overnight - it won;t be cleaned overnight! See 'dot to dot' method in the OP.
I have
emptied DW, emptied TD and folded and put on maiden though I now think I probably could have dried the towels outside - it's very dry (and cold) and breezy so what I have pegged out is almost dry. I have also washed my Christmas jumper (by hand) so it's outside drying (I hope) and someone has asked for it so I will be giving it away...I've had it for about 7 or 8 years now and it was only £5 *fling* and I have handwashed the table runner we used at Christmas too.
Good progress made with tricky part of jumper - left shoulder/front done - just the right one to knit then its sleeve cuffs and neck.
Bed made and chairdrobe cleared in my BR; it'll be the LR when I can muster up some oomph.
