Cleaned all the windows (insides only), after an hour reading! Plenty to do, but it's nearly lunch, so no point starting now, right?Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

I need to get onboard with Slinky too, but it's not happening yet because there's still cheese in the fridge from Christmas, and a neighbour who is teaching himself to cook made us a coffee and walnut cake as a thank you for Christmas Day and Belovéd doesn't eat food with nuts in. It's my favourite cake. I've been having a slice for breakfast and tea every day because it's got cream in the filling which will, of course, go off if I don't snaffle it all in time. I weighed myself this morning. Lent will be grim.YL I had terrible, terrible blisters after the first day on Hadrian's Wall, and Compe3d plasters saved me, together with a lot of painkillers. They healed, but it was slow. I'll be using surgical spirit to toughen up the soles of my feet for six weeks before the next attempt in May. I hope your boots become comfortable very soon.Very little other than tidying going on here after a tough couple of days on Foodbank work. My sidekick has had to take a step back for health reasons so I'm covering it all at the moment, and as we have literally never been busier I can't manage it all in less than 12 hours a week at the moment. They've now advertised for someone new which is great but it will involve me doing the training, so I can see my commitment going up to 16 hours a week minimum for at least four weeks. Let's hope the new volunteer stays for a while - they will be the fourth person I've trained in five years and it's getting more complicated as ever more stats are required by the Trussell Trust, and a new manager at the Foodbank who is unfortunately seriously dyslexic so can't use the computer very much and thus help out.I'm struggling a bit with the flat after Christmas feeling which is not helped my having lost three nights sleep. I gave up booze nearly 10 years ago but had champagne when we were in Glasgow to celebrate with a friend, and discovered that now I'm not on St John's Wort it doesn't go straight to my head, so I allowed myself champagne on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and Belovéd's birthday. No feeling of being even tipsy, no hangovers, but also no sleep the following night. I'm not sure I'm willing to go through that again unless it's an exceptionally special celebration in the future. It's not helped by the fact that lovely Wren barks in her crate if I'm not in the bed next to her for a couple of hours during the night, so I can't go downstairs to read either.I need to repair some birdseed feeders, and sort out a vacuum cleaner, and walk the dog before I can do anything else like dusting ....Better is good enough.8

Hi ladies,
Lots done today, including picking up our home reared pork from the butchers - I have around 30 packs of sausages as well as umpteen chops and joints, and that's before the bacon is ready! Thankfully I have found a new to me freezer on FB marketplace and the chap is going to deliver it to me for fuel money. That will be three freezers now
Fire is roaring and I am impatiently waiting for the kettle to boil on it for a cuppa! Read the electricity meter again today and I need to try and bring it down more, my finances are so squeezed at the moment every little really does help.
DD has just texted me from the first school bus (she has to catch two home) to request a hot chocolate when she arrives back at 4pm so I will go and get the squirty cream and marshmallows out
Big hugs to all xx8 -

had lots of washing out; not dried but mostly lightened...some is now draped over maidens to finish off.

After getting washed and dressed and doing the first lot of eye drops I took some more things to a charity shop (drove the first part and then walked the rest of the way). I walked on to a shop where in the past I'd bought natural air freshener as the Glade lavender one I'd bought for the bathroom was deemed to be utterly revolting by A (I don't think it was that bad.
). They didn't have any of the brand they used to sell so I bought a different sort (lemon fragrance) and hoped it would pass muster. I then went to the M&S in the high street for a couple of bits and then walked back to the car, stopping off at the wine shop and the corner shop for the paper on the way.
When I got back it was time to prepare lunch after which I washed up, did eye drops, and then cleaned the hand basin in the bathroom and the two mirrors. I came across a hand-made soap someone had bought us for Christmas so I unwrapped that and put it out. It has a very strong fragrance which I can imagine A will not tolerate so I fear its days are numbered. I then wrapped up a parcel to return something I'd ordered but they'd sent the wrong thing. I Hate Ironing brought the shirts back so I hung those up and went out to the post office and posted the return. Came back tidied the dining table which had become cluttered with 'stuff' again, did eye drops, made tea for A and coffee for me, which I've just drunk with a slice of Christmas cake.9 -
Wiped some woodwork in the spare room, listed all the bits to go on FB and had someone offer me way over asking providing I would post it, so packaged that up and took to post office. Washing in and a quick finish in the dryer. Now it's the weekend so will be doing bare minimum I think!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Narco we have a beautiful and very expensive woodburning stove sitting in the fireplace in our kitchen diner that can't be used. We need a new chimney liner or flue and the stove needs refitting to comply with building regs. We also have an open fire in the lounge so it's not a priority and we will save up the funds and do it one day.ASB what a disaster, naughty pup. I couldn't live without my heated throw!
Oh and CofG I am lucky to live on the edge of the North York Moors, but living in a tiny village with no shop pub or public transport can be a pain sometimes. I am about 25 miles away from any large shops.
A better day today but I have done very little paid stuff, which is OK because I have lieu hours to use, but I need to get back to it next week. I managed 9.5 hours sleep which is probably too much and might affect me tonight. As well as a bit of paid stuff I have been for a run across the fields, done a yoga stretch workout, been into town for shopping and to send off a parcel and have hoovered and mopped.
So glad it's weekend. I have a challenging week at the paid stuff next week so if you need a bit of mutual hand holding Round that might be useful for both of us.
I am off to eat crisps and chocolates and drink wine. We still have Christmas gibble left.9 -
G'd evening all.
Today I have
- S&S'd kitchen and bathroom
- PUPA in the kitchen, LR, my bedroom and study
- accepted DH's offer of hoovering downstairs
- dusted all through downstairs and mopped the hard floors (kitchen, dining room, hallway)
- spent 2 hours (plus travelling time) doing my full prescription at Action Heart
- posted DGS2's birthday card
- paid the dog walker
- FUPA all the clean bedding and other washing that was airing in the bathroom
- brought in the Christmas lights from the back garden
- watered the houseplants, especially those on the landing windowsill which I forgot earlier in the week
- rehomed 6 very large and about 25 smaller books and reclaimed approx. 80cm of shelf space for family history
- cooked tea, but was still hungry and cold afterwards, so when DH went out to his wargames club I ate bread and jam to fill up: this is not helping the slinky effort!
Now I am waiting to phone an old school friend at 8.00. Appropriately for a former librarian, she must be related to the White Rabbit because she is very precise about timings. I daren't be late!
Note to self: when I eventually get round to making the Flylady Road Trip, I need to pack at least 2 hm coffee and walnut cakes
Have a good weekend, everyone xxx

I’ve just eaten half a packet of j@ff@ cakes. It would have been a whole packet, but obviously I had had the munchies at an earlier date. It has cleared a space in the cupboard, so that’s flying, right? 😳
Err, and that’s about it for today. J@ff@ cakes and slinky down the Swanee.Iona - make that 3 coffee and walnut cakes, please 😉8
