Hi all
Terrible nights sleep, had a horrible dream about DS1 which included various other random people and made no sense at all but was very unsettling. I have been to my Saturday volunteering, had cooked breakfast and went up onto the moors to do a 4 mile walk that has been on my to do list for ages. In fact it has been a nice Saturday all round.
DH is on cooking duties and I need to put the clean washing away and iron a few bits. But first I am having a cup of chamomile tea and a muffin. I could snooze.8 -

First load of washing was draped on the airer. Second load swished, given an extra spin, and also draped on the airer.
Empty bleach bottle recycled. New bottle stood on stairs to go up to bathroom.
All packaging from Christmas presents recycled or binned as appropriate.
Won £3 on a scratchcard that I was given at Christmas.

@pigpen I hope that you are feeling better now. This morning after doing A's eye drops I finally took the branches that I'd cut of the Christmas tree down to the bins, along with a bag of recycling. I then went for a walk - it was quite cold but I don't mind that. Stopped off at a couple of shops on the way. Came back cleaned the remaining, and very stubborn, burnt stuff off the casserole dish which had been soaking for a couple of days, made lunch and washed up. The friend who we had Christmas Day with rang. I asked how the amaryllis we gave her was getting on and she said 'what amaryllis?'
This prompted her to search for it and she left a message later saying she had found it and it was fine - I hope so. The first of our amaryllises now has one head out and the tête à têtes I bought during the week came out the next day and are looking lovely too.
I made tea and then sent a WhatsApp to my my friend whose father is in hospital. She then rang me and we had a long conversation about various issues relating to his discharge from hospital. Who would have thought you could talk for nearly two hours about hoists and molifts! By the time I came off the phone it was time to make supper. I had a few nuts before and managed to break a bit off one of my teeth. It hurts a bit when I have anything hot or cold so I need to have it seen to before too long. I had a check-up and clean and polish just before Christmas and was hoping not to have to go again until the summer. [sigh]
Going to wash up now and start the night time eye routine as I really, really want to be in bed earlier tonight.

Got up with the intention of my usual lake swim, but it was very cloudy and just looked generally uninviting so I wimped out - no incentive of a buddy waiting to meet me as she had already said she wasn't going this week. Felt really guilty and lazy but as Mr N pointed out (he who needed a wetsuit in the Galapagos and was still cold), this is supposed to be for pleasure and if I didn't fancy swimming today, so be it. Felt even more guilty when - owing to our sometimes pathetic and intermittent internet - a message from another swim buddy sent last night at 11.30 arrived at 10am asking if I was going swimming at 9.30. However I plan to go tomorrow before church and 2nd buddy said she will go too...........it is meant to be cold tomorrow so it could be invigorating; apparently it was 4 degrees today.
- finished sewing up gloves for friend; all ready to collect or deliver.
- one load washing done, hung out, brought in - yes, Murphy's law made the sun come out after the last swim entry time.
- pulverised and packaged up soup I made yesterday; 2-3 meals worth frozen and we had a bowl each for lunch.
- went for a walk with Mr N to the local RSPB lake.
- caught up with emails.
- cancelled Gardener's World magazines; we've had a special offer subscription for the last year but don't really have time to read them all and they do get a bit samey year after year.
- after a lot of argument with the web site, amended milk order as they cheekily said 1% fat milk was no longer being sold so they suggested replacing it with organic (i.e. expensive) semi-skimmed. Have now got non-organic semi-skimmed as regular order.
- continued researching electric converters for gas stove; one local place sounds keen and helpful and will investigate. Not holding our breath as they said they hadn't done it before but at least they are trying.
- still researching some sort of low bench/shelf unit to put in conservatory to hold all the bird food!
Did a few other random bits of tidying. Making slow but steady progress with jigsaw!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
The last few days have been paid stuff and child care again so very little other than basic flying has been done.
Today, I mostly intend to relax ahead of DGD2s sleepover tonight but I'll try and report back if any flying does get done.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all. Hope you feel better today, pigpen x
A lot more sorting got done yesterday: I sorted my study shelves (but have to try a different arrangement today because that plan didn't work - the gap between two of the adjustable shelves was not high enough to accommodate the lever arch binders that I had planned to move there); I sorted my to-do list and remembered to write the intercessions for church today and send some long overdue emails; I dropped off a bag of the girls' clothes that K had sorted out for the charity shop and bought a new zip for M's fleece, which I need to sort today; a long phone call with my eldest goddaughter sorted out her travel arrangements to visit us for the weekend of 1-3 March (at the price of her train tickets!!!); the chiropodist sorted out the painful corn on my left little toe; and Rosie sorted out the squirrels in the Covert
Today the plan is church, walk, zip, chatty phonecalls and a rest!
Narc0, I haven't been able to get 1% milk for months, so instead I buy equal quantities of semi-skimmed and skimmed and mix them in equal quantities in a spare bottle. The result is very close to 1%, which I far prefer to either the watery skimmed stuff or the semi-sk which tastes very fatty to me now that I drink far less of it. I can't say that it's made a lot of difference to slinkiness - but maybe that's more to do with eating up the Christmas leftovers
Hope you have a peaceful Sunday, Flyfriends xxx

Another frosty morning here. But I'm toasty indoors with my brew. I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, completed Wordle and Connections, and said brew has been supped. Bite size lists seem to be the way forward for me. You'd think I'd know that by now 🤦♀️ Heyho.

Morning all
So I have decided that today is going to be a reset day for me. I am struggling with my mental health at the minute, nothing new there, and i need to make a big effort to stop worrying about things I can't change, find joy in the things that should make me happy (which includes work), and stop putting so much pressure on myself.
I actually have a lot to be thankful for but I need to find that gratitude for the good stuff under a big pile of pointless worries. I have my journal and pen ready to write some plans.
Today I am also cycling with my ladies cycling group (which is going to be very chilly) and I want to give the LR sofas a bit of a clean. DS1 is here and his laundry is over the airer. The kitchen cupboards need a wipe down and there is clean washing to put away. There always seems to be clean washing to put away, even though there are only two of us and we are not the wear once and wash it types!
Hope Sunday is kind to you all x8
