I actually think that is an awful camp where the kids have rationed food, they should have helped prepare the food and wash up, but not rationed, I think That is appalling actually, I am pretty disgusted by it for the kids, it should not be like that. When I went to Brownies and girls guide camps we were set up to buy the food, prepare the food and wash up, all useful skills but never rationed...perhaps they are preparing for a war?

I have to say i was a bit surprised. I haven't DS take on the food yet, I will ask him later and see if he agrees with what she said, but that was breakfast...then she said it was a lot of ration packed food for lunches as they were out and about a lot doing activities. Then dinner I can't recall what she said but not a lot there either, she wasn't impressed (she is veggie so her options probably were a lot different on the dinner front to the omnivores).
I am glad I sent them in with £10 for tuck shop and also around a tenner's worth of snacks in their bags. She ate that to keep going. DS said they were averaging 40,000 steps a day on some activities  he was impressed with it, DD not so much. She is not made for the forces or physical work......DS seemed to thrive on it all!

Oh and both my kids did scouts, beavers, cubs, brownies etc before this and I agree the camp there is very much about helping and doing the chores with the adults. This camp was focused more on leadership skills, mountain climbing, orienteering, archery etc etc and the evening was all about downtime really after they finished for the day.

In other news......I am on my 3rd wash already with at least 2 more to do :hushed: 🙄 My tumble drier is full, as are the tops of doors (with sleeping bags just rinsed through a quick wash) and next will be the radiators

We had a late lunch so no one is hungry yet, I think DD will be having a nice early night at least tonight at a reasonable time, she looks exhausted. DS is already having a nap I think! I have plenty of fruit & veg and healthy foods to feed them up with tomorrow before the takeaway in the evening. They will be grateful for my food offerings for once....I think I will send them away to camp more often!

  • £5 cashed out on surveys yesterday. I had a look on my YNAB and I've made about £80+ on surveys this month without even trying. Also £11 on cash back!
Can't wait to move to be able to use these payments towards MOP once again 😃

  • Delurking to say best of luck for today/tomorrow! You've been so impressively organised with all the packing and sorting (I have been in awe of it) - you'll be thanking your past self for it tomorrow once you're in the house! I hope everything goes smoothly and with minimal stress :)
