I’m not sure where time is going 😯I went to a friend’s house yesterday and helped her transform her little front garden from a weed bed to a flower bed complete with surplus weed membrane from our shed and various rocks. I’d given her plant cutting last year that were still in pots ready to go out. It’s not worth transporting rocks when we move and there are still plenty in our garden - the ones we took were from a storage box. She was really pleased with the transformation, as was I. I’m feeling it today though and its only a bed about 6ft by 2 ft 🤣 and there were 2 of us 🤣 she now needs some more slate to cover the membrane….as I was trawling fb last night there was somebody wanting to get rid of 8 bags of slate on the freebie page so her family is picking them up for her this morning. I’m really pleased with it and all using surplus supplies so £0 😄

We had a lovely afternoon by the seaside with the big tower on Friday…it was persisting as we left home but we had faith in the weathermen and as we approached the sun came out. It blew the cobwebs off but was so nice to see blue skies. Money was spent in our favourite cafe but was worth it.

I’m at a party later with the singing group…..I’m not really feeling the vibes yas I’m tired but it might be my last chance before the move….the next party will be Christmas and hopefully we’ll be in our new place by then.

We’re beginning to bring the buildings from the railway ready to take down to my dds to store for a while. There a tad delicate for th removal men and will take up a lot of space. They’ll go in her garden until we’re ready 😄 There not much space to store boxes in her house but the garden is fine.

I’ve been a busy bee recently. I’ve been making the most of the nice weather by sorting my garden tubs by taking the bulbs out in readiness for planting in the new garden and then taking cuttings of plants I want to take. They’re mainly alpine plants that spread easily so there’s still plenty left for the new people buying the house. All the model railway buildings are in the house….it was quite a shock seeing how many there are when they’re together.

I had a bit of a wasted afternoon yesterday. I had an appointment with the consultant that gives me the steroid injections in my hip. I’m a NHS patient at a private hospital. A few weeks ago I had a phone call saying I should have been having an injection that morning but I’d had no notification of it. Yesterday I should have had a face to face follow up appointment. I got to the reception to be told it was in fact a telephone appointment. I’d even phoned to check up as I was expecting it to be a phone call. Anyway I did see the lovely consultant who was full of apologies…..the mess up has all even to do with the politics and funding. Apparently the funding hadn’t come through for the injection and the funding doesn’t cover telephone appointments…..so he’s re listing me for an injection and if the funding doesn’t come through is transferring me to where he does his NHS work. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️no idea what’s going on behind the scenes but whatever it is it’s costing me time and the nhs consultants time.

I’ve been having quite a few meals and coffee and cakes out with various friends and yesterday had terrible heartburn. I’d had pasta with chicken for tea with some jarred pesto. It lay very heavy on my tummy and I was so sick last night. I haven’t felt poorly at all so it’s definitely dietary rather than illness. So that’s my wake up call to watch what I’m eating.

Money wise Dh has been doing really well selling his old radio equipment. He didn’t think he’d get much for it but it’s been a nice surprise.

Not sure where time has gone again. I went to the wedding a couple of weeks ago. My dress fitted even though I’d have preferred a little more breathing space 😉From there we went on a caravan holiday. It only cost a few more £s a night than taking Millie Motorhome and it was lovely having extra space. It was a good site but not as close to the town as we expected. The intention was to look at houses around the area as it was only about an hour away from where we’re buying the bungalow. But we don’t need to do that now…we had fun exploring the local area instead 😃We did park up near the new place and explore the area on foot. It’s walking distance from both ds and Dd although quite a good walk to dds. We explored the area by bus and were quite happy with the places we could get to. We spent the l weekend with Dd and family at her house. So a great time has been had.
i had a steroid injection on Monday so took it easy at home on Tuesday. The weather was perfect - about 22 so I made the most of it by sitting and painting a few bits and bobs with a metal paint. I couldn’t get it off my hands - I used turps, white spirit and even resorted to bleach 😳So word of warning- wear gloves when using h@mmer!te paint. My hands are just beginning to look their normal colour instead of a black striped 🤣 One of the things I painted was the egg chair I inherited from my neighbour. Today I’ve been binding tape around it. Not sure what it’ll turn out like but the plastic was just breaking on it.
Yesterday we went on the buses and trams around the city to sort dhs isa out that was maturing. We went to a branch of a bank we know is near the new house. I’m going to transfer my current account and transfer one of my isa too. I’ve got an appointment for Monday morning at our local branch to sort that.
I’ve just tried applying for a passport online but just can’t get the photo right so will have to go to a booth to get one. We tried uploading several photos of us both but they were all rejected because of shadow…

Hope everyone is doing ok. I’ll catch up on some diaries soon

We recently had our passport photos done in a Max Spielmann shop, they check they are suitable for passports before printing out and giving you a code to add to the passport application.

    Thanks Baileys Babe.
Well thing didn’t go to plan yesterday. I was in the garden doing a bit of pottering when I lost my footing, did a bit of a dive through the air over the hosepipe reel and landed on my elbow. It didn’t look a good shape at all. My neighbour came round to see if I was ok because she heard me….dh was out but we did manage to get hold of him to go to A&E or ED as they call it now. Long story short…..I’ve dislocated both my radius and ulna at my elbow and probably got a fracture at the tip of my elbow and some soft tissue damage just for good measure. The hospital were great…..we waited less than 1/2 hour for triage then straight through for a cubicle, because I can’t take a lot of painkillers I had gas and air then several lots of x rays and an old style anaesthetic whilst they put me back together. The orthopaedic doc came in the early hours this morning and said they were having a case meeting this morning and did I want to go home or wait at the hospital. I came home and did manage a couple of hours sleep in my reclining chair which is easier than try t get into bed. At 8 am I had a phone call from hospital asking me to go back for a scan and to have a plaster put on to stabilise the elbow. I was taken straight through to the plaster room and then the scan. Got to go back again on Monday. They were talking surgery at one stage but seemed hopeful this morning that won’t be necessary.

Not what I needed when I need to be busy sorting through things before we move.
