Exciting and scary in equal measures Beanie.
It is very slightly cooler this morning. I washed my trainers last night as they were looking a tad tatty….couldn’t believe that they were dry this morning…shows how warm and dry the air is.
I need to look at finances later and pay my cc in full. I seemed to spend quite a bit on holiday on eating out. Not good for the finances or waistline 😯 That said I’m off out for late dinner early tea to catch up with a friend and then we’re going to the pictures to see Finding Emily….not sure whether I fancy the film or not but can’t wait to sit in the air con 👍😃I inherited an egg chair from a neighbour a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t in as good a shape as I expected. The frame is fine but the plasticky weaving is breaking up. I’ve been on the look out for something like a thick shoelace (Dd has this on her egg chair) to repair it with, anyway at knit and natter last night we were talking about restoring things and I mentioned the chair and that I was looking for something that I can replace the plasticky woven rattan with. The lady running the show got her steps out and produced various tapes on big rolls. It’s not exactly what I envisioned but it should do the trick. I’m quite excited at restoring the chair. Even better she wouldn’t charge me for it as she had the tapes donated to her. I know she does a fair bit of fundraising for cancer charities, so I’ll take a donation next week. I’ll get a cover for when it’s not in use as it’ll hold water more than the rattan😃

It sounds like you've made the right decision re Millie the Motorhome, especially as there will be so many nice place to visit on your doorstep. I hope the chair restoration project goes well.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪0 -
I was expecting a cooler day yesterday and had good intentions of painting my wooden garden furniture so it’s nice for when we move. I’d been out there a short amount of time and it was just too hot. I was in and out all day…sanding and painting then coming in for a cool again. I’d hoped to get at least a couple of chairs done….i managed 1 and had great intentions of doing another today…..but it never happened, I was filling in paperwork instead.
My friend works at the solicitor we’re using for the house and whilst we were away last week she popped some papers through the door for us. Dd and the kids were coming the day after we arrived home so Dh glanced through them and filed them away thinking they were duplicates of the e-mails we’d received. I saw my friend last night and she asked if we’d filled the forms in…what forms says I 😯😯😯😯Dh was mortified that he hadn’t realised and we’ve been sitting on these forms all week. When we came back from our singing this morning we cracked straight on filling the blooming forms in……good grief they virtually wanted to know what we’d had for breakfast 🤣🤣 It took over 4 hours by the time we’d photocopied various warranties. I know once we move I’m staying put forever. All I can say is thank goodness my friend checked up on us or they'd have still been filed away.
I paid my cc in full and was happily surprised when I checked my bank statement as I hadn’t actually spent as much as I thought last month. I need to stop food shopping and use what I have in stock….something that doesn’t come easily as it was drummed into me to always have a good emergency stock in as you never know what is around the corner. It’s something I’ve always tried hard to do 👍
Tomorrow we’re going to a zoo about an hour away from home but getting tickets for after 3 pm for £10 each. I know we won’t see everything as it’s a massive place but the full day tickets are silly prices and it’s too much walking for a full day. I don’t know how long the ticket offer is on but might be worth several trips to see different parts of the zoo 🤣🤣January spends - £587.581 -
You also need to start running your food stocks down for the move.

I know Beanie…..and I keep eating out telling various friends what’s going on 😯🤣 Tonight were eating from the freezer 👍 I really do need to run it down as it won’t survive the journey.
We had a nice time at the zoo. It was warm though and lots of the animals were sheltering. We didn’t see a lot of zoo in the few hours we were there but I enjoyed what we did see….especially the orang u tan. There were plenty of places to rest but even so I was shattered and my ankles were rubbish. We had good intentions on Sunday of emptying the van and putting the carpet cleaner over the carpet but that’ll wait for another day.
I had a pan appointment with somebody at the Gp surgery this morning and have been referred to physio again. Then this afternoon I should have had an appointment at the hospital but they’ve just phoned to cancel and rebooked in a couple of weeks.
I’ve just seen the loveliest thing on my way to the GP. As I passed the barbers shop, there was a young boy of about 7 or 8 having his hair cut and the barbers cockatoo was on the youngsters feet as he sat with his legs out in front of him. The boy was transfixed watching the bird. This bird often sits on the railing outside the shop. I’ve spoken to the barber previously and he said the bird lives all the attention from the customers. The boy and his grandma came into the surgery afterwards and the boy was telling the receptionist all about the bird….it made his day.
Money wise I’ve used all the cash left on my card from Christmas last year and I had £5 voucher, so my £60 shop on Sunday cost me less than £30 in real cash.
I’m having my hair cut tomorrow as it’s desperate it probably needed doing weeks ago but my hairdresser lost her dad so i didn’t pester her then she had a new grandchild last week. It’s taken on a life of its own in the warm weather. I never had curly hair when I was younger but it’s really changed so if it’s warm it’s morphs into a birds nest 🤣🤣
