We got a new to us car back in November and there was a fault with the heating. We eventually got it serviced by the garage which seemed fully booked FOREVER and they agreed to sort it under warranty. It was booked in a few weeks ago but they cancelled because they couldn’t source the part….several people at the garage told us the part was £3000 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️So it was booked in again yesterday to have the heating sorted on the warmest day of the year so far 🤣 Just before Dh was about to leave we had a phone call saying the technician had phoned in sick 😳 they asked if we’d drop the car off yesterday as planned but it could be a few days before it’s sorted. They gave us a courtesy car to use with 29 miles on the clock. It’s very nice but dh got a shock having to put petrol in again. He only put £5 in and with what was already in the car, that’ll take us about 40ish miles. He’d charged our  electric car overnight for £3.50 before we dropped it in and he’ll get approx 100 miles out of it. I know we’ve had to pay for the charger to be put on the house but it was a bit of an eye opener.
The garage were full of apologies and said they’ll give us a courtesy valet…I should think so too 😂😂...All I can say is I’m pleased the heated seats worked as it has blown cold air all winter 🥴😳 It could have been worse though as had we bought it in the summer when the heater wasn’t needed we wouldn’t have known it wasn’t working and it’d been hard to prove it was faulty on purchase. Hopefully we’ll get our car back later.

We did get the car back and the heater works 😃 it was lovely returning from ds house over the weekend where we could put the heater on to clear the windscreen with warm instead of freezing air 😀
ive defrosted the fridge freezer this morning…..it takes so much longer than my old one which was much smaller. I think  getting up and down the steps to reach the top shelf didn’t help. It’s actually a frost free one so it was more a wipe out and sort out than defrost.
I want to give Millie Motorhome a wipe around inside. We’ve brought all the bedding in for a quick airing and all the clothes are cleaned and ironed ready for packing before we head off on Friday.
Dh is finishing work on Wednesday…..end of an era and new beginnings. He has said he’ll help out if they have a big job.
I’m hoping to visit my brother tomorrow and nip into town en route. I haven’t seen him for a while.
Not sure if I’ll get chance to post until we get back so enjoy the spring weather everyone 👍

Thanks Beanie….good to see you 👍
I went to see my brother yesterday. He isn’t  in the best of health so ended up having to go to bed. I had a lovely chat to his wife though. His condition is what it is. I visited the big town on my way home and used my YouGov voucher to treat myself to some undergarments from M&S - a nice little haul and I only had to put £2 cash to it 😄 From there I got on the bus to knit and natter where Dh picked me up at the end of the day.
I ended up getting a Marcy Dees yesterday AND a cake and coffee….not sure what got into me as I don’t think I’ve had a burger from there since the Christmas before last 😂 I did enjoy it though. Probably not the best idea before an early weigh in - id usually go tomorrow, but we’re out tomorrow for an early Mother’s Day meal. I did loose 1/2lb…..not a lot but my 4 th loss in a row 😃 I always think of the Peter Kay sketch when he went on about slimming clubs 😂😂😂😂 - every little helps though 👍
Right I’d better get on and wipe Millie out inside so I can begin to pack things.
Just been watching the local news and the roundabout up the road from me was on……it’s over the mainline train tracks and needs ripping up for repair. It going to be closed for a year…..it’s going to be madness around here. Think I’ll be walking more than usual. Not sure what route the buses will take. 😳😳 Roll on next year 🥴🥴

We had a great time and lovely weather. It rained twice but it was mostly lovely and sunny. We visited a friend who lives nearby and Dh was invited to play with the local ukulele band who were doing some fundraising for the local hospice. So he was in his element. We also had a lovely steam train ride 😄 The only downside was rained stopped play when we’d planned a boat ride out around the island where there are lots of puffins….the boat was still sailing but we are definitely fair weather sailors 😂 We’ll do that next time we visit. Money was spent and enjoyed but everything was done MSE style 👍
We arrived home Friday evening and went out with ds yesterday.
Today has been a chilled day. I visited my friend for a cuppa and we put the world to rights.
Itll be strange tomorrow as it’ll be the first day that Dh will feel as if he’s retired…..it’s just felt as if he’s on holiday so far. I’m looking forward to having him at home but I’ve got into a nice little routine when he’s working…..it’ll be strange for us both 😂😂 we get on fine though so we’ll adjust 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I really do appreciate how lucky we are though…..out of all my close friends we are the only couple left 😳

I know Beanie…my close lifelong friends have all lost their hubby’s…..food for thought.
We’ve had quite a good day. Dh has been dangling through the window to sweep the debris left from the roof on the extension whilst I held his feet 😂😂 we have a blind on the back bedroom window which we rarely open. I got a shock just before we went away when I opened it, as I saw all the broken bits of tile and debris on the lean to. We would have got the roofers back had we noticed straight away, they must have genuinely forgotten to do it, but it’s weeks since they finished so Dh decided to tackle it himself. Then he got up the ladder outside whilst I held it to tackle where he couldn’t reach by leaning out. He’s been messing with the electrics on his train track whilst I’ve been painting the decking with decking oil. We had some left from last year but needed more so we headed to bee and que. The bigger tin worked out much better value and it’ll do us next time too. They had an offer of 3 for 2. We bought a couple of tubs of fence slobber too….meaning we’d save a tenner on one of them. We got to the checkout and a lovely lady in front of us gave us a voucher she wasn’t going to use…..£9 off a £60 spend. So it worked out we got the 2 tubs of fence paint for 50p each…..I’m sure painting the fence will be more enjoyable knowing that 😄
im going to give the decking another coat in 10 minutes or so whilst Dh cooks tea. It’s only a small area so doesn’t take long. I’ve become quite good at using my left hand for such things 👍
I’ve been busy painting the fairy houses from the train track over the last few weeks and I’ve finally nearly finished. It’ll be good to get my table back. Dh is going to put new lights in them. I’m looking forward to having everything working again.
Not sure what we’re doing tomorrow- it might be a ride out as we’ve worked hard today…..or we might crack on whilst the weather is nice.

Well not sure where time is going to. Dh and I had a lovely day in North Wales last week and I went out with ds at weekend too….a little Yorkshire town with lots of canals so we had a lovely walk and went back to Dh house for tea 😀
Ive just been shopping as I’ve never known my fridge so empty. £120 in @sd@ but I still had £20 on my Christmas savers card from last year and £104 in Costco. I’m well stocked for a good while now though. Bargainous veg for 8p so I stocked up and also took advantage of beef and lamb that was on offer.
I’ve been painting the fence with my 50p paint slobber…..was rather disappointed to find it didn’t make it any easier than full priced paint. It’ll take a while as 2 panels is my limit before my body complains and goes on strike …..it’s getting done though 😄 It wasn’t that bad as I did it last year and just beginning to go. I’d get another year out of it but it’s so much easier when it only needs a quick coat. I don’t know how it’s lasts 5 years as stated on the tin. Dh has been doing bits too but I’ve told him to concentrate on getting the train working and he can take over when I’ve had enough 😂😂😂
Dd, son in law and gks are arriving tomorrow until Saturday. It’s SIL birthday and they’re going out on the town for the night whilst we have the gks. Right I’d best go and put the beds up for them.

Well the family have been and gone. It flashed by like a whirlwind. We had a lovely time though. We all went out to a place an hour away across the hills. It was an old mill and has artists work and various ‘arty’ shops, a park for the kids to play in too.  I’d given the gks some money  and a just a tiny egg as they don’t eat much sweet stuff. They were in their element…..so different…..the youngest could have spent hers several times over whilst the eldest weighed up all her options and went back to what she really wanted 😂
Much cash was spent as it was sils birthday, Easter cash for the kids plus I’d paid for drinks and some cake between us…..that was quite a shock for 7 of us 😳😳😳 Can’t complain though as SIL bought lunch for us all.
Happy Easter everyone 🐣🐥 We’re off to ds now as he’s having some work done on his house and garden next week.  The shed need’s emptying as they need to move it and return it after the jobs are done. We’ll get a roast dinner in return 👍
