Yesterday was a very lazy day. I think the most strenuous thing we did was to take the decorations down….well the indoor ones anyway. I decided to do it a day earlier than I usually do as Dh was at home to help. I did throw some water on the wooden ramp we have for ds and swept the slush to the side. It’s lethal when it’s frozen….not sure why I bothered as we had just enough snow overnight to make it lethal again.
Back to normality today with Dh back at work. I suspect he has regretted not already finishing.
So although the only intention I have for new year is to enjoy life, to do this I need to keep fit and healthy. I have enjoyed many Christmas treats so weighed myself this morning. I was amazed to see I’d stayed the same since mid December when I last went to SW. I’m still over a stone heavier than I’d like to be but I have started off well this morning with porridge and berries and will keep eating sensibly with less upf (not sure I could give chocolate up 😜) and smaller portions. I’m going to get back on the SW thread on this site. I want to dust off the Wii fit to see if I can remember how to set it up. I’m not going out if it’s icy so it’s an alternative fun exercise to try. I haven’t used it for a good while but used to really enjoy it. I’ve put my gym membership on hold as my arm was very bad and decided to rest it properly but the gym is actually closed as the floods have wrecked everything in the basement……all the changing rooms, the ladies gym, a thermal pool and steam room that have only been there a few years. There must be thousands of pounds of damage…..if not more 😢 It’s right by the river and has been slightly flooded before but nothing on this scale. There were a lot of cars wrecked in the  car park.
I was slightly miffed by the last sw consultant as I’d been really poorly with a chest infection and then missed a meeting for a friend’s funeral during December and I still had 4 weeks left on my 12 week plan I’d payed for in advance…. I know you loose any meetings you don’t attend but a bit of support wouldn’t have gone amiss. I never received any little message asking if I was ok or offering any motivation - something my old consultant was really good at. However yesterday I had a message asking me back and offering a money off voucher. I politely declined but left it clear I wasn’t happy and believed SW does work and I will probably go back to my old group. I’m not sure if I will or not but if I won’t be heading her way again.
So today is a day of looking at finances, transferring some cash from a savings account into my current account to pay for the roof. I bought a big new notebook a while back full of good intentions so I’m going to give it a go. I’m not going to record things every day….i never keep it up but will keep a bit of an ongoing log of thoughts, finance totals, and weight totals…..anything else I record will be a bonus. I might keep it going if I’m not too strict with myself.

Sadly I think some SW consultants are only in it for the money & that’s all.

Beanie that’s  the conclusion I came  to….and she needed some umph. Will see what I can do myself.
Well I didn’t get the Wii fit out or do the finances…..I got side tracked. I listened to some hypnotherapy tapes which I need to keep doing. Although they haven’t had the desired effect of weight dropping off and me losing the desire to massively overeat. I have noticed other differences I didn’t expect….including being able to relax better and have a more positive outlook. So maybe now those are in place I’ll be in the right mindset 😁

It has snowed heavier here today than when we had the weather warnings a few days back. Thankfully it appears to be melting now but there’s lots of slush that’ll be awful if it freezes.
I could hear Dh talking this morning and thought he was chatting to next door as he was de snowing the car. It was the scaffolding men whom we were expecting on Thursday. So they’ve been out there in snow and rain erecting it all morning. Can’t say I envy them that job. Neither am
I looking forward to having no roof whilst they do it.
I have transferred money from my savings into my current account in readiness for them asking for the half they want once the scaffolding is completed. I really don’t like seeing my savings disappear but needs must.

We had half planned on taking Millie Motorhome around to ds house and parking at the side  of his house whilst the roof is done. its not ideal and would be a squeeze especially when ds wants to charge his electric car. Anyway with the scaffolders arriving a day or so early this threw the plans as Dh wanted to park up at ds in the daylight. Luckily he managed to get it on our drive last night, in front of the scaffolding. We had snow that turned to slush yesterday and it froze solidly overnight. We live in a little cul de sac which is slightly up hill ( or downhill depending which way you’re looking 😜) Dh was up early this morning as he wanted to move Millie out of the drive and park at the top before workmen arrived. I had to go in a different room and couldn’t watch him move it as the binlorry has been known to slide on ice on the hill. I had visions of him sliding all over and doing all sorts of untold harm 🥴….yea I know I have an overactive imagination for such things. It’s quite a manoeuvre getting out of the front of the house into the bowl of the cul de sac……then virtually 180 degree turn around and up the icy hill. Thankfully even though the wheels were slightly spinning, he moved it safely to the road at the top of the Ave in readiness for the workmen to arrive……the workmen haven’t made an appearance yet 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Dh will probably move Millie to her temporary home tomorrow or Friday.
Don't think I’ll be venturing out again today. I’m so pleased we made the effort to go to the sea side last weekend as I’m beginning to get a bit stir crazy. I’m hoping for a big thaw but it’s supposed to be going colder.
I’m planning a bit of ironing and a tidy up today. Tea will be whatever we have in the house. I’ve taken a Christmas pie out of the freezer…..made with leftover chicken, gammon and mushrooms….plus last portion of frozen mashed potatoes. Will use a cabbage we have in with it before it gets past its best.
Dh is off work tomorrow so we’ll go shopping and use some of the Asda money I’d saved but never used before Christmas. I’ve got plenty of meat in but it’s the fresh foods that got with it to make a complete meal that I’m running short of.
Stay safe in the ice everyone.
Dh is going to get onto the garage. The new car we bought in November has a fault with the heating. We notified them straight away then had to wait to be fitted in whilst they looked at it. That was last Thursday. They decided it needed a new bit which they ordered and were getting in touch with the powers that be for approval to do it under warranty. I’m not impressed as this isn’t the weather to go without heating. Hopefully they’ll get it sorted soon.

Yes - that's really annoying as it's a new car. Good idea to hunker down indoors in the warm today milann. The Christmas pie sounds lush.....😋
