Dh had his 15 seconds of fame this morning 😂😂 Yesterday at his U3A ukulele band somebody went in to film them. It was on tv this morning on an obscure news channel with more adverts than news Anne Diamond is one of the presenters. 🤔 Anyway they did a feature on pensioners going to play their uses in care homes etc and the importance of getting together to learn something new in older age. They didn’t sound half bad 😁👍 I saw my Dh for a fleeting second as the camera panned around. No plans yet for today….will see how the day unfolds. I’m currently sitting in my dressing gown watching a tv programme about the RHS garden not far from me. We might venture down and get membership or we might leave if for a few weeks until the garden wakes up a bit. Will take the day a minute at a time 🤔👍January spends - £587.586

Fame at last for DH 🤣 I’m being filmed next week in an interview with type of thing for work. Thankfully it won’t be going out in the public domain 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Good luck with the filming SA. I hate seeing myself on screen 😳 SSG it’s so true we need to learn new things to keep the grey matter working. I was so surprised when Dh wanted to learn an instrument as he likes music but isn’t naturally musical 😂….but he has done really well. I think I was comparing him to my dad who could hear a tune and instantly pick it up.
We did go to the garden on Saturday and joined for a year. There was 1/3 off so it was £73 for the year for a joint membership but we can take a friend and up to 4 children. It’ll be great when Dd comes to stay and we can go with ds as often as we like. It’s just a pity the route includes a very busy 4 lane motorway with lots of junctions close together so everyone is chopping and changing lanes 😱😱😱 my worst nightmare 😱😱😱 there’s no way I’m driving there. There is a bus stop on the main road but it’s a loooonnnnnngggggg walk to the entrance. I’m playing with the idea of getting to the big shopping mall and getting a taxi from there if I go on my own. I’ll look into it as I do enjoy it there. Apparently in the summer months they run a bus right to the door from the city centre so that’s an option.
Ds came around yesterday afternoon and we went for a ride to a place we often go to. We had a short walk along the seafront, it was a tad windy and very cold 🥶. The tide was fully in and the waves were crashing over the sea wall. It was quite exciting dodging them….we did chicken out and cross the road to keep dry on one section. I’ve never seen it like that there before. It’s at the sea end of the estuary where the big river reaches the sea and you can either walk along the sea front or river bank with beautiful city views across the water. We stopped at a big outlet village and had a mooch and warm up on the way home as we had zizzi vouchers from when I made a complaint back in the summer. Ds had a spend £50 and get £20 off in January voucher. Because it was a gift voucher I had, we could use it against the offer so it cost £15 for 3 of us to have a sharing starter, main meal and soft drink. So good value 👍
So it’s been a spendy weekend but all good value 😁
A friend came round today so I made jacket potatoes and we put the world to rights. I’m having an early night tonight as I’m shattered.January spends - £587.584 -

I have a ukulele in the loft and keep thinking I should have a go at learning how to play it. I'm YouTube would have some videos. There is also DD2s violin in her room but I'm not sure the neighbours would appreciate that 😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200
