Hanging pictures makes such a difference. It has really helped me cope with the endless grey (walls, floors, kitchen units) in this house. Having said that, I really love the two rooms I've had decorated and can't wait to do the rest.
Enjoy making the house your own - focus on that, and try not to let the drama impact on you more that it has to.4 -
An appropriate response, well done.
Hanging prints isn't a tiny step, that's a Task Done and a lovely one at that!
I am so excited to be reunited with my prints, family friends said we were welcome to put up pictures etc, I don't think they realise quite how much I'm planning on making the flat mine 😁https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

As you should @PennysIntoPounds and thanks @greenbee
The stuff has arrived so I can fit the hooks and cord to a couple of other bit I want to hang. Another day of hoping the electrical sockets get fixed to the walls, if that happens then a couple of areas can be straightened out.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I have someone removing the dog door and fitting the cat flap today @Watty1. Tomorrow an internal door is being blocked up. So today the cats are trapped in the kitchen. Tomorrow they'll be outside/in the utility room. And I still have furniture to move for tomorrow's work and then next week's. But it's all progress.

I hung up one of my art works last week and a print I'd bought - it made such a difference to the room. I totally get your excitement over hanging your prints. Enjoy.

The electrical sockets cannot be changed. I hate the brass fiddley things but it seems they were badly installed in the first place and it is not an easy job to change them to pure white. After investigation on line I have bought one socket that might work (white metal) and that will be tried at the end of the month when it arrives (express postage was more than the cost of one socket and only a day earlier!)
VNM's mother refused to go to her hospital appointment yesterday saying she was too ill to the taxi driver we had arranged. Lovely taxi driver was really concerned and rang VNM. It was for a blood test and the career let me know that with a bit of persuasion her doctors surgery can send someone to do that. More phone calls. A frank chat with the VNM over a bottle of wine yesterday evening. He is in two minds as to whether she is really is this ill or attention seeking. That surprised me, he clearly is very stuck on this. I was so careful over what I said despite the wine LOL Anyway we have agreed that until we can get her "properly" in the system as housebound there will be more calls to make. Once we have done that the pressure should drop.
The wine and the bought to bung in oven lasagne and salad were very nice but expensive. I need to dust off my slow cooker as I suspect until the old girl is properly "in the system" there will be more dramas sadly.

Thats so difficult for you both. Ultimately though even if she is ill, it's her choice as to what she consents to, and her being unwell doesn't mean VNM magically doesn't need to pay bills or buy food! Lasagne and wine sounds lush.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

In other matters I am beyond excited as i have just been paid for a support call in my business. I used to do these free of charge and found that once i started charging no one wanted to do them. I'm ok with that because it means that I have a little more time. I still do some support calls free which are the ones that bring in the business but the one offs I charge for. I've had a few whinge emails on this (my friend got it for free, I don't want to pay blah de blah) but I have stuck with it.
Today I did one, I ran over the time allocated and I did not mind. I left the call feeling enthusiastic about doing them because the person on the other end was happy with her call and engaged. Such a change from those who were "taking without pay".
The less happy news is the vet has been to see the Charming Cob. She agreed he was delightful. (They all do, he really is a star). I have done a full blood panel to check for everything and she also looked at him and agreed with me that he was low grade lame in his right hind so he has another 'sick note' for time off. I am beginning to think we wont get to the big show I want to take him too. Which is sad for me, but so long as I have him then all is good in my world.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Ah that's sad about the show but as you say, as long as you're both enjoying life and each other that's what's important
Fantastic news about the paid for call, and that you found it enthusing! Once again, well done that woman for recognising and prioritising your own worthhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
