If you're worried about showing your knickers, try shorts under your short skirts (lots of primary school kids do this now, and I think it's a great idea :) )

Yes - cycle shorts do work well, I often wear them under work dresses as walking across the bridge from Waterloo station to the Northbank can be gusty! Also in the colder months consider stockings with built in shorts - I think M&S do ones called magicwear, you can even wear your BJ big pants under them for extra warmth!

I had a friend who used to make quite short skirts with matching, often lace-trimmed shorts. Beautiful

I wear these under dresses. Come in funky colours. Super long lasting but no bulk and cooler than cycle shorts

Quiet weekend for me. Walks done. Book read. Played around with chat gbt and discovered much about the prompts. I asked it to do something for work which it did and I then emailed it over to the consultant i want to use but then thinking it over I went back and asked it for confidence in the work it had just produced. After a quick "discussion" the work was redone and I now thing I will probably only need to pay for an hour or so of consultant's time rather than a couple of days! Will have a chat with the person doing the job. (I've known him for many years and he is doing the work "on the quiet" so long as no one knows he has done it so saving him time is a win win).

Have not had such a quiet weekend for many years. We were going to go out to a local village for "open gardens" but WattyDog not walking so well at the moment so we decided to stay in with our dog. I read some of a book then dozed on sofa whilst VNM mowed the grass around the place until the mower finally ran out of petrol. When I finally stirred myself to go outside I was impressed with the amount done.

And that sums up the weekend. No money spent. Large glasses of lassi made for afternoon treat each day to use up the yoghurt mountain in fridge.

Finally a smile: to mow the grass VNM had to round up WattyDog's toys. There were a great deal of tennis balls - 15 were counted. I do not buy tennis balls for WattyDog. I think these are purchased by the people opposite for him. He also located 3 dog rugby balls and a glow in the dark ball (I purchased those), a rope toy (I think WattyDog won that somewhere) and a pull toy I have never seen before. The haul made me laugh. Then - to make me laugh even more - the back gate was adored with Scottish flags. I was told by the old lady that they are supporting Scotland in the world cup and therefore so is WattyDog and they got the flags for themselves but wanted to share!

Oh and we enjoyed a delicious box of chocolates. Charming Cob has a joint supplement but I bought the wrong one and he refused to eat it, but, a pony belonging to a neighbour has this one so I left it in a bag by the gate and told her to take it - so much better than waste - and I found on top of my freezer a fabulous box of expensive chocolates with a thank you from pony. What a win and lovely surprise!

It might have been a quiet weekend and you are not familiar with that feeling but from what I read it was full of smiles, appreciation, companionship, friendship and care for others human and animal.

I bet Wattydog thinks he is king and has an extra birthday. 😊And I love that pony supplements magically turned into chocolates. You have a lovely local community and I can tell you that you, the VNM and of course Wattydog are an integral part of it.
