I think there are times when the body just declares a holiday. Might as well enjoy it! Sounded nice. 😊

Rather than crashing I'm hearing nicely exhausted from achieving and enjoying, and that can be continued with allowing and enjoying a day reading in bed or whatever you fancy tomorrow
It has really made me smile that the cafe manager left you there with the keys to lock up 😊

Photos yesterday of boots - repairer had spent yesterday working and oh my goodness, what boots !! All the repairs have been done and from the look of the pictures he has "refinished" them somehow so they are no longer a tired country boot but a gleaming polished boot. They never looked like that before - so - comfortable boots being returned but repaired. I've no idea how much but it will certainly be cheaper than buying new, has saved them from landfill and they are gorgeous and will probably go another few years (they are easily 15 years old). He said he had still to work out the price and will let me know.
I'm was so delighted I sent the pictures to two friends.

I agree it's fully worth keeping good boots going! I had a pair (bought second hand, but very comfortable) that I wore for years. I paid much more in re-soling than I originally paid for them, so they were truly a bargain to begin with. Then teenage DD kept borrowing them as they really suited her, too!
Eventually the edge of the uppers split in a way that couldn't be repaired, and they had to go - but taking care of them more than paid off. Your sound like new!

One of my past lives was working in a shoe repair shop. They were always busy (back before fast fashion really took off I guess) and they'd take scruffy old shoes and boots and make them look amazing. I learned the basics of it but was always amazed at the leather soles they did on old sewing machines. They looked like art.
Hope you have a good day 😊

One of the pals who has seen the pics has decided to try getting a few pairs to the same person as she was astonished at the transformation (she thought they were only fit for the bin)
Another day of very little and I've really felt the benefit now. Left overs for lunch, slow cooker stew for dinner. Have written a reference for someone professionally - I must admit I did not even remember the woman but she sent me a career summary and I realised I had worked with her on a big project may 15 to 20 years ago so quickly filled in the form and sent it off and now want to revise slides for Wednesday's course as the material is too advanced for this cohort so I'm going to change it a bit but that should not take long, then back to binge watching TV this evening and an early night ready for the week ahead.
