Jeez usually they get really strict on people being in the same household for using those type of services

I wonder if it's PPH dearest @watty1?! Love Humdinger xx

I did wonder that @humdinger1 but I think that sadly is just where my mind goes. His tendrils still reach into corners of my mind or life sadly
All resolved now according to Amazon. A refund has been made apparently (still waiting for that to show) and an email received saying my account has been checked and unauthorised access removed
Then another email this morning saying no suspicious activity and all is fine and no refunds due which is really odd. Will wait and see what happens but am not leaving card details on site for now
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
It would be interesting to know why they have allowed the unauthorised access in the fist place. Is it a previously authorised person, is it proper fraud where someone deliberately goes round accounrts so they get stuff free, is it their mistake like the bank recently linking the wrong account details to legitimate logins.
Anyway glad its sorted and good idea keeping your cards off the system

Maybe when the Prime comes up for renewal it would be best to cancel your account and open a new one linked to a different email address.

My first thoughts when I read this was that it was a certain PPH who had realised that his existence was having less effect & decided to put the boot in. They do not like to be ignored. A certain someone insisted on posting a monthly cheque for 10 years instead of doing a bank transfer direct into the bank as agreed in the divorce paperwork. They just can't help themselves. I very quickly learnt to say how pathetic, but a 100 miles away does hellp!

@Watty1 - I'm so sorry to hear about the unauthorized access. A pain in the butt, if is it who the other ladies have suggested. Can I be devil's advocate and say, don't change your behaviours in reaction to someone else's! Document everything while fresh in your mind and if refund does not show up from the big river company, apply to the credit card company but honestly, water under the bridge & not worth anymore of your time or effort!!! We had many similar issues over the years with OH's ex and without going into detail reported it via the fraud agency.
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)Original End Date - Sept 2041 New projection - Dec 2039 (reduced by 21 months)4 -
Interesting some of you wondered the same as VNM. However a pal has informed that a know scam is to hack an account and then see if anyone picks up on a small purchase or two before going for address changes and more expensive orders so it might have just been that. The £3.49 will hopefully appear as a refund but has at least been dealt with now. Have documented all evidence in case of another fraud or in case it was PPH and will simply draw a line under that.
In other MSE style news £375 spent with periodontist for a deep clean and a plan made for broken tooth which will be done in May. He assumed me it was fine and there was no hurry.

On getting home the power was off (planned all day) so I cleaned out the fridge and two kitchen cupboards. Also had to clear under the stairs. No great finds but a lot of junk put out for recycling and I have a clearer idea of what is to be used up with minimal spends on food this month. Dinner will be some frozen curry as quick and easy and power should be back by 4.30

Glad you got the account sorted. My first thought was also PPH. So I hope you take some sort of comfort that you're not being paranoid or in a mentally bad place if your thoughts go to him when something dodgy happens, as all ours do too so it's not just you!
Marvellous utilising of the power outage, hurrah for decluttering and food ideas
