Good lord. I had not really considered this !greenbee said:Clean is relative Watty. Chances are she has to deal with some really filthy places, so dog hair, dust and a bit of mud are probably not an issue. If you don’t have mould, unwashed dishes, and decomposing food everywhere and have done the occasional load of laundry you are way ahead of a lot of people!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Yes; as I used to say to teenage DD some time back at an unexpected knock at the door 'that's probably a self-respecting pig, come to see if your room is fit to doss down in'. I'm bad at domestic stuff (apart from cooking) so really was in no position to comment...love Humdinger xx5

Everything is relative! We showed people round when they were staying overnight in our holiday flat, absolutely gushing about how lovely it was. I was thinking calm down dear, its lovely but that's a bit ott. Then she showed me pics of their previous nights air b n b. Omg I could see why they were so pleased. They didn't get in till 11 at night cos cleaners were there, and it was still disgusting. Tenement flat looking out onto tiny walled in triangle of ground with rubbish and needles. Inside wasn't a lot better. I hope they complained as no way should somebody be giving good money (more than we were taking btw) to stay in it.Watty1 said:

Cleaner was clearly pleased with your place 😀

I had never really considered what some people find acceptable. I'm so untidy but VNM and I always make an effort for a cleaner because how can they do the job if not???
Another vets bill. Poor WattyDog tummy has developed ulcers as a result of the pain killer and he got very bad diarrhoea which was obviously blood from inside gastric tract so off we went to the emergency vets. There was a blood bank in session so the place was full of happy healthy dogs and WattyDog was delighted. I tried to keep him away from all the others as he was ill and although I had guessed what was wrong I thought he should not mix and had to bribe him with treats to stay away from inciting play.
More drugs. He has anaemia and that is clearly taking its toll as he is very tired and lethargic today and I have to call the regular vets to come up with a plan. I did mention to the vet I had anaemia and so could give him my iron pills - she was appalled at that suggestion. Hey ho. Will talk to regular vet. Thankfully it is a school day so WattyDog will rest (yesterday despite being off colour he was keen to go visiting the old lady and play with her grandchildren). He is so irrepressible and just determined not to let a little thing like a slipped disc and anaemia bother him! I persuaded him to keep quiet by watching a couple of films on sofa. We both needed rest.
Horses have routine vaccinations and so another vet visit today. Should I just send my monthly income to the vets each month and let them return anything left? Would that be a better way to budget just now?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

It would save you a lot of admin, you could suggest it?Watty1 said:Should I just send my monthly income to the vets each month and let them return anything left? Would that be a better way to budget just now?
The day watching films sounds like good therapy for both of you. Poor Wattydog, I hope his iron levels can be fixed quickly and the ulcers abate. He seems determined to enjoy himself regardless, which has to be a sign you're getting things right for him.
Did the rest help you at all?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

awe poor wd, he's been through it recently 😢
I saw this elsewhere I think she reached out because her husband saw me with my girlfriends in a local coffee shop and she had to as they had just moved to a village a little way away and I was going to say that I don't see that as a 'had to' at all. Whether she was in Australia or next door she still decided to reach out ??? Hope it worked out xxxx22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈2⭐ 26 🥈 Never save something for a special occasion. we once saw our vet on a flight to Orlando. We decided she was probably going out to stay in the holiday home we had fully paid up for her over the years (we were booked in at the cheapest hotel we could find 😆)
