Life continues to roll towards the end of the year at quite a pace (thankfully Charming Cob does not go so quickly!)
The architect that the planning consultant suggested came out. I loved the last architect, this one had no interest in the project, it was just a bill to him but I'm going to use him as he did understand the brief is adapt this design to get it through planning. If we move to build them I might look for someone else, but for now getting the job done is key. Bat survey company appointed for a date next year when bats wake up, ecology survey date awaited and now need an environmental survey done - planning consultant looking for ideas on that one.
So that is one goal being moved forwards as the year draws to a close.
Then today was meeting with accountant to discuss business and all good. He has identified that I can take a slightly bigger dividend in the last tax year without impacting my tax too much so, hurrah, that will be sent to ISA.
My tradition after accountant meetings is to treat myself to a nice coffee somewhere "posh" as I always feel like they are meeting the "headmaster" and being told "one could do better" (although this year I did get a well done!) However, I saw on face book that the local farmers market was struggling so I went there instead and have left with a wreath for the front door, a slice of cake (am still sugar free so VNM will have that), some sausage rolls and cheese straws and the stall selling Indian food was there so we now have Indian for the next two nights.
A £1.50 cup of tea and a £2.50 bacon and cheese pasty wrapped up my spending and delightfully the organiser thanked me for visiting and one of the stall holders came over and said "thank you for purchasing" How charming, that doesn't happen in a shop for sure! It is a lovely village farmers market, and I would have bought vegetables but I have no real meal plan in mind just yet for the forthcoming days but I promised I would try and pop in next year for my veggies if not before Christmas. I love where I live (I really do even though you all know the game plan is to move) so I want to support the market while I can.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Both CC and MH ridden this morning. MH has received a rosette in the post for his dressage which was such a joy. It is possibly the poshest rosette I've ever had (I am fairly sure we came last but it says 5th on it so I'm going to take that, the important thing was a goal was achieved by end of year) Coaching session this morning, again with MH and we focused on doing things in the moment and being accurate with what we do. I'm not going to say my nerves have gone but I am going to say this woman has been fabulous for me as I no longer stress about riding MH and get in a state. Instead I enjoy it. Which is what I wanted to get to.
The rest of the day needs to be spent doing house cleaning of epic proportions as two friends are coming to stay next week we will spend one night at a hotel but other nights here so both spare rooms need clean bedding and as one of them will cook (a tradition) I feel the need to clean the fridge and kitchen drawers etc out! First lot of bedding in machine as I type and drink my coffee, then back to "doing"Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I do find it handy to invite people to visit, pushes the 'must do some cleaning' button. We've cleaned the inside of the windows this afternoon (first time this year), have invited some friends over during Christmas. Outside Christmas lights have been put up, and everything else retrieved from the loft. Will have a good flick round before putting the Christmas trees up.Looking forward to see the festive tractor parade this evening. Something like 200 vehicles expected.Make £2025 in 2025

Ooh, apart from the tractor parade, that is us too. I have just invited the neighbours who dog sat while Mr Sl was hospitalised, to come for drinks and nibbles, so let the cleaning begin!!Slinky said:I do find it handy to invite people to visit, pushes the 'must do some cleaning' button. We've cleaned the inside of the windows this afternoon (first time this year), have invited some friends over during Christmas. Likewise @Slinky and @Suffolk_lass Both spare rooms now have clean bedding and been tidied (ok, some boxes just moved into our room). The cardboard mountain has been dropped off for neighbouring parrots and later today i will see if some of the stationery in the boxes in our bedroom can be moved into the office and make it to the office shelves.
Online shopping delivered yesterday too so we have food, some items not quite what I was after but "will do". I think I have enough, including bottles of beer for the Spanish guest and wine for the English guest. They both drink a lot when they get together so I might need to add a couple of bottles of wine as I've now invited someone else they know for an evening meal as well but other than that the basics are done.
Christmas gifts remain an issue though as I still have to organise those. Will pop into the village tomorrow and see if I can find some locally produced food for those. (Trying not to gift "stuff" as I personally have a mountain of stuff and don't want to add more to the planet).
Now off to see if I can get some washing away before work. I understand why @Greying_Pilgrim does a load every day. Two lots of bedding, three lots of regular washing have been a problem to get dry. The tumble dryer has gone rogue and just does a cycle it likes rather than the sensor picking up when clothes are dry. This is fine for towels as the extra dry setting works but everything else comes out damp so I have to keep going to the yard to see how the drying is doing and reset it but yesterday I failed to check so everything came back wet! I still have another lot of bedding to do and the towels and the dog towels!

We use a hanging four-pole rail in the airing cupboard (no need for the pulley here as the ceilings are low) and hang everything from that and it dries in the warmth from the boiler, but you could use a ceiling mounted curtain pole to hang hangers on (I use pegs on plastic triangular hangers for our underwear) - just not your front facing windows, I suspect. I only use the TD for ten minutes to warm and lift out the creases before removing and drying in the house, on hangers. I got a dehumidifier, love it. Weve been doing the bedding this weekend and most of it is dry and back in the cupboard in the same day. We use flannelette so its heavy wet stuff.
Especially great with 2 clothes horses, put smaller stuff on the rungs, then a sheet or downie over the top of them both so it makes a cave, dehumidifier in between and, with a little judicious turning of the clothes occasionally, it's dry in no time. Plus it heats the room as it puffs out warm air as part of its process22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion.
