Oh that's such a shame about the crumble! Are you sure you've not just invented a new delicacy? No? Ah well.
If you leave out the sugar (and all but a pinch of salt) and perhaps add some cheese, crumble is really nice as a topping for mince.

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Book on psychological abuse helpful in understanding and also in stopping any vestiges of sympathy / empathy for PPH (and getting why they were there). In time I will try more of the healing techniques. For now, this winter, will cope with the hormonal issues as best as I can.
More on the feeling fabulous goal I set this year: have made an appointment to research options for hair. My hair has been falling out over the last few years. Many younger friends have hair extensions in and that seems normal to them, so it occurred to me maybe I should look at "wearing hair" like they did (only I need wigs or toppers or something, hair fibres cover the bald spots currently but I want a bit more than that to have fun with)
Having researched local places (none of which replied to calls/messages/emails) I found a place to go in Essex. They have asked for photos in advance and "hair goals" I have no idea about my hair goals but I would like enough to put up, to feel more like "me" and to "sparkle" when I see myself on camera and in photos
Hope that doesn't sound too vain. I realised health was one issue but also the way I look and feel is all tied in with that.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Not vain at all, its sounds positive to me and linked to feeling more confident/better.5

Hi Watty
I'm all caught up on your diary again - briefly at least.
On the hair - that can be stress or age - but it can also be zinc deficiency. Might be worth looking into.
The cupboards look lovely.
I'd love to own multiple acres - but agree a kit house may offer more cost certainty than doing up an existing property. I totally get the temptation though. I always think when I look at those properties that I'd need at least the same money again to do it up. It's definitely worth working out a cost per square metre type cost for refurbishment and adding that to the purchase price so you can compare it to more 'finished' options.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Watty - not vain in the slightest. I come from a family that has (on the maternal side), a propensity for female pattern baldness. My mum tried to do the best with the slight curl her hair had, but there's no doubt it got her down, especially towards the end of her life. So do what you need to feel good, however you need to do it.
