If you was a man no one would be batting an eyelid at you trying to do something with your hair ! If it makes you feel better then it’s worth it, as you are worth it !Sealed pot challenge 822

@Watty1 when did you start having problems with your hair? It might be related to your hormones but also can be the result of stress (among other things obviously). It might not change but as you tackle your health and feeling fabulous list fingers crossed it helps xMFW 2025 No. 7 £2331.07/£2700

Doing your hair is a great idea, I was going to suggest hair loss could be stress-related but I see a couple of other people have got there before me. It can also be a side-effect of lowered thyroxine levels and I've heard it associated with iron deficiency. Get some help and advice: there's no reason you should suffer with it and we all know a good hair day gives a real boost. It may also help if it gives pointers to the overall hormone issues.
I've seen some great 'hair solutions': a friend had chemo and lost hers, then while it was growing back she got a great wig. It's fully grown back now and whereas it used to be straight, she now has curls! And then I saw a little girls yesterday with multi-coloured extensions plaited in: and why not? If you fancy a mermaid look, now's your chance!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

My hairdresser used to be able to judge my anaemia through the state of my hair, so hopefully as your health improves your hair will. But in the meantime it's definitely worth looking into solutions that make you feel better.4

If you do have a thyroid problem then it definitely can cause hair loss. In my very bad state when mine went even I could not miss the fact that I lost part of an eyebrow.2

The outer half of my eyebrows has largely gone (eyebrow pencil is my go-to makeup) - but the oddest thing was going to shave under my arms and wondering if I'd already done it!badmemory said:If you do have a thyroid problem then it definitely can cause hair loss. That disappeared so suddenly. Yet I still have a full head of hair. However, there are lots of possible causes of hair loss. I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Definitely not vain. I have been horribly self conscious about my teeth for years and have finally found a low cost option for brightening (rather than whitening or capping) them. It’s a slow process, but I can’t tell you what a difference it’s made to my confidence!KKAs at 15.10.25:

It's neither vanity nor abominable conceit, dearest @Watty1! It's about aligning inner and outer realities. Hair is a great barometer, in my view. Might I venture to suggest that you want your hair to reflect the good things you have going on, and how far you've come? As ever, you're utterly inspiring. Love Humdinger xx6

Thank you all for the lovely support. So heartwarming and very appreciated. Genetics hormones, iron, thyroid probably and stress all involved in the hair loss I just want to feel more me so let’s see how this goes.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Lovely ride on CC who really is an angel this morning. Friends horse a right twit and he just carried on as tho dogs emus and loud bikes are just regular life.Home I dragged the bench from the orchard and had a good look at it with VNM. We have decided it can be renovated enough to be the front garden bench so I’ve scrubbed the mildew off and pressure washed it and spent £18 on paint. It is currently drying under cover before being sanded, additional bracing added and painted. It might last a few more years, will add kerb appeal but not look so good it might get pinched is the goal on that one.
Rain then stopped play so I came in and sorted curtains for last two windows. Given future plans are in flux I really didn’t want to spend much. The windows are inset so a pair of wide curtains from Dunelm have been shortened and as they are tab top are now hanging from extendable shower rails. The rails are white so blends with the wall. Curtains are thermal lined blackout and there is just one at the end of each pole. I was worried one would look off but actually it has worked really well. Total cost for two windows £33. Really pleased as does not look cheap at all and now shortened the curtains hand inside the window rather than either side as there isn’t room for that.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
