Age, genetics, stress, winter weather it all seems to pay a huge role in hair. And it seems something the medical profession can offer little support with. I have chatted with my doctor who referred me to someone at the local hospital who said take some vitamins (zinc, B6, selenium and a multi) and suggested my GP checked my thyroid more often (ignored by GP)
I'm really looking forward to visiting the place I've found. I've set a budget, extensions wont be an option but I want to research what else might be possible. (I will report back).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I've been taking collagen for a little while as I hoped it might help with knee pain. Which I think it might have done as I have not been doing physio exercises but I have no pain walking down stairs. I'd forgotten that I was struggling to walk downstairs until I read KK's comment.
@skint_spice B vitamins are supposed to help with nails. Cheapish solution maybe? I often have chipped broken nails but thinking about it I had to clip them all yesterday so maybe the collagen has helped them.
I had a lovely PM suggestion (thank you) and I followed that up and as a result I have quickly researched intralace systems and I'm going to explore that a little more too.

I have been taking collagen since the start of the year and had a very achey neck but it seems to have sorted that out although I have also been moving more which I think helps. Not sure if it’s had any effect on me looking younger or not…Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Cold I was trying to ignore has progressed. What is with colds that one feels so ill for such a small virus? Trying to ignore and work instead.
Good financials. Recently I shared here that I was not going to a meeting in London as felt really under par. They sent me a link to join on zoom and - yay - yesterday was asked to submit an invoice. I checked and they do mean it as I have up time to attend and participated. I put the invoice in and was paid 2 hours later. £180 moved to ISA.
What a win!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Also when filing nails, go from either side to middle, don't go straight across back and forth as that weakens them (to my knowledge).
Wearing a layer of nail varnish (clear is fine) I think can help protect them from daily stress and there are versions available that are 'nail strengthening', I don't have any knowledge on whether they work or which ones work though. Might be something G*od H*usekeeping or Wh*ch have trustworthy articles online about.
As others have said, there has been a recent rise in popularity of collagen supplements which may help but investigate properly before spending money and imbibing, especially as a much cheaper vitamin you may be lacking in could do the same job. Ask your GP to do blood tests if you feel there are changes in your body.
Also just the standard advice of keep them relatively short to minimise impact damage, regularly trim them and definitely trim them as soon as there's a breakage, and try to trim them when you've just had a bath or shower as your nails will be softer and less vulnerable to the shock of scissors or clippershttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Well done on the extra invoiceDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
